Out Of Uniform
by MarlesFran
"Dispatch, this is the backup for officer, uh, Flynn, reporting the scene as all clear, over."
"Backup, this is dispatch, acknowledging the all clear. Go ahead and put officer Flynn on the line."
"Uh, that's a negative. Flynn is currently tied up with other things."
"...ok. Go ahead and put her partner, officer Ellis, on the line."
"Negative again. Ellis is also tied up at the moment."
"Officer Jodi Flynn and Caroline Ellis are both busy? What's going on over there?"
"Uhh, it's a little hard to explain. I'm sure they'll explain the whole thing once they're free."
"Copy that. Backup, this is highly irregular. Who is this?"
"(Oh shoot)- Uhhhh, this is... This is officer, uh, Sandy."
"...Officer Sandy?"
"Yeah! Yes. I mean, roger that. Officer Sandy... Uh, Wells."
"Uh huh. Officer Wells, I hope you remember the details for the report better than your name. Rest assured I'll be forwarding a copy to your supervisor. Who's your partner?"
"(Quick, they want your name!)"
"(No, I don't!)"
"(I'm already-ok, ok!) Uh sorry for the delay! My partner is Officer Jessie James. (Wait, you idiot that's a real person!)"
"Officer Wells, is everything alright over there? What's the status on the fugitives?"
"Everything is a-ok, all clear! Er, I mean, yes, the fugitives. Uh yeah, that's what the other officers are busy with. The fugitives have been apprehended and are getting booked currently."
"Roger that, that's all I needed to hear. Go ahead and clear off this line and have officer Flynn, or anyone who talks like a normal human, give an update once the fugitives are secured and en route to the station."
"Uh yeah, roger that dispatch! ... Dispatch, are you still there? Hello...?"
She shrugged, and tossed the radio aside.
"Hey, watch it! Don't break it!" Her partner hissed.
"Heh, what does it matter? We already have what we need: guns, uniforms, and the keys to the cruiser. No one's going to care if we're missing something as small as a radio."
"Maybe a random person won't, but a cop will!"
"Relax! We're not going to get pulled over if we're in a cop car!" She reassured her partner, before turning her head the other way. "Right? You guys don't pull each over?"
The woman she was talking to did little to respond besides mumble something unintelligible.
"Ah got it. Still tied up with other things. Sorry to bother you!" She laughed at her own joke. Officer Flynn and her partner officer Ellis sat against the wall of the room in the vacant house the fugitives had been using as a temporary hideout. Both women, stripped to underwear, were tightly tied up with duct tape. The officers had responded to an anonymous tip about the two criminals, and entered into the house expecting to take them by surprise. Instead, they were the ones surprised.
As soon as the door had closed behind them, they found themselves staring down the barrel of a shotgun. At gunpoint, they were ordered to hand over their guns, badges, radios, and finally, their uniforms. With no choice but to comply, the humiliated officers stripped down to bra and panties. They were then forced into an interior room, made to sit, and tied up; the criminals taped up their hands and feet, their thighs and arms, and their mouth and eyes. It was only after they were completely helpless, unable even to talk or see their captors, that the officers found out they'd been set up; the anonymous tip had come from the criminals themselves!
"It's too bad that it was you two who ended up responding to our tip. Well, besides the obvious part about being subdued, humiliated, and kidnapped. It would've been nice to get someone who laid off the donuts a bit, so I could fit in these pants without tightening the belt all the way!"
Officer Flynn grunted angrily, but without even being able to see she couldn't even shoot a dirty look at her captor.
"Don't worry though. It could be a lot worse. I'm sure someone will eventually find you. Better hope that it's another cop rather than a realtor coming with an open house!"
"Anyways, we'd love to stay and chat more, but we gotta go ahead and hit the road in your cruiser. We've got another meeting coming up, and your uniforms are going to help us get exactly what we need. In the meantime, sit tight!"
The two hostage police officers tried to call out, whether pleading their case, cursing these criminals, or indignantly assuring that their plan would fail. It didn't matter though. The door slammed shut to the empty room, leaving the two locked in with nothing but their bare essentials and bonds to hide their shame.
One thing was certain; once they did finally get back to the station, it was going to be a really, really awkward conversation...
