Star Wars: Forces of Destiny - Ahsoka & Padmé (2018)

Post by tirepanted3 »

One of Padme's handmaidens is mugged and replaced (off-panel) by a shapeshifter who steals her robes and tries to assassinate the queen. Ahsoka comes to the rescue. At the end of the story, the other handmaidens mention they've found their real coworker, locked in a storage container.

Real sharp find, TP3. A F/F Star Wars steal is quite rare.
I believe there is an episode of this animated series that explores how Princess Leia stole Bush the bounty hunter's outfit.
There is a "legends" story from "Shadows Of The Empire" that tells a different tale.
However, the "Forces Of Destiny" cartoon is "Cannon".

Yes, F/F uniform steals are disappointingly rare in Star Wars.

I think Boushh was a male alien, though I'm not sure that was confirmed in the original movie.

I'm not really sure about Boushh's actual gender.
I have the Shadows Of The Empire comic book adaptation and audio book, but don't know if the gender was mentioned in those.
Shadows Of The Empire was a major event for Lucas in the mid 90's.
This was heavily marketed and was told in various media formats.
The entire story was told in A Comic book mini series, novelization, video game and there was even accompanying musical score (Not by John Williams).
Each version told the story in a different way, from various character's perspectives and with different details added.
I was super excited about this back then.
I never played the Nintendo 64 game and didn't buy the musical score until several years back.
However, since Disney bought Star Wars this is just another story in the massive expanded universe that is no longer considered continuity.
It's too bad Dark Empire and Dark Empire II wasn't the inspiration for the sequel trilogy.

I read the "Shadows of the Empire" novel (its French translation). I recall Boushh is a male. Either way, there isn't a uniform steal at all. The outfit is given to Leia by Guri (member of a criminal syndicate called the Black Sun). Guri mentions Boushh was stupid enough to try to swindle the Black Sun, which ended poorly for him, hence why they have his clothes at hand...
