This story originated from a discussion with my friend and fellow board writer SovietLUT about the concept of a USB story set during the Vietnam War, a controversial period in both American and world history. The scenario we both fleshed out was of two US Army nurses being replaced by two female Soviet paratroopers, members of the VDV who historically were present in Vietnam during the war to train North Vietnamese special forces in preparation for the Tet Offensive at the start of 1969. Here the mission of the two Soviet paratroopers is to ambush two US Army Nurses and using their uniforms, infiltrate the field hospital at Da Nang Firebase and assassinate Colonel Vince Strong, a regimental commander in the 101st Airborne Division. Their objectives are twofold, first to allieviate US pressure upon local Viet Cong and NVA forces and to prove to the North Vietnamese the concept of shadow warfare. I have to thank Soviet for her contributions in both the details of the infiltration and historical Information without which this story, would not have been possible...
Saturday 21st August 1968 07:00 hrs, Viet Cong Jungle Encampment
VDV Paratroopers Privates Yulia Polikova and Svetlana Sidorova sat in their green camaflouge tent, cleaning out their suppressed 1896 Nagant revolvers in preparation for their assignment, as they listened to "We have to get outta this place" by the Animals humming along to the sweet musical number, to immerse themselves in decadent American culture. These Americans may be decadent but they have great music thought Yulia as she finished cleaning her revolver, loading it with seven 7.62x38 cartridges one at a time, sighting it. At 21 and 22 respectively, Yulia and Svetlana had been in country in North Vietnam for the last 6 months, as part of the wave of Soviet troops to support and train their Vietnamese comrades in arms in the great struggle against the American capitalist scourge. Of course their presence in the war torn region was a closely guarded state secret, if the Americans ever suspected their presence or worse if one of them were captured, then the Cold War could become hot. So far, their assignment had been a boring one, teaching a bunch of VC women to shoot straight was frustrating in the extreme and they had not fired their AK47s in anger since they had been here. Their only enemy had been the heat and the fucking mosquitoes, until this morning. An hour earlier, during breakfast a Vietnamese runner had found them and in her broken Russian informed them they were needed for a critical mission and Comrade-Lieutenant Petrov would be along with the details. Here they were still in this tent, an hour later waiting on the Lieutenant. Both women were lookers, Yulia had high cheekbones rounded features and almond shaped blue eyes her shoulder length ash blond hair tied into a short ponytail. She glanced over to her best friend Svetlana, who smiled at her as she finished cleaning her Nagant revolver, admiring her shallow cheekbones heart shaped features and big brown eyes, her medium length jet black hair done into a sensible bun. They were both dressed in the standard uniform of the VDV, matching mottled Soviet pattern jungle camo combat shirt and pants with black laced combat boots, with combat rigs belted around their waists underwhich they wore blue and white striped undershirts. Blue berets with the Soviet star pinned in the centre completed their uniform. Svetlana, took out her packet of American Lucky Strikes, liberated from a wayward US supply drop, from the pocket of her uniform shirt offering one to Yulia, as they bopped their heads to the music. " What do think this all about, Yulia?" She asked in perfect American accented English as she took out her lighter. Yulia leaned forward lighting her cigarette, taking a few puffs before leaning back. " I think we are finally going to be going toe-to-toe with the Americans, perhaps an Infiltration mission." Yulia blew out a long cloud of smoke as she spoke. Svetlana smiled as she took a long drag from her cigarette. " I sure hope so, Yulia, they wouldn't have wasted all those rublès in teaching us to talk in this silly accent just to have us train the locals." Svetlana chuckled as blew a smoke ring, nonchalantly. " Or smoke these god awful cigarettes. At least the music's not half bad." Both women started to laugh, but suddenly two male figures swooped into the tent. Hurriedly, they stubbed out their cigarettes, switching off the radio as they quickly flashed salutes to Lieutenant Gennadi Petrov and a man the paratroopers recognised as Colonel Nguyen, leader of the local Viet Cong guerrillas in the region, dressed only in loose black clothing. Both men returned the salutes.
"At ease, comrades." Lieutenant Petrov ordered as the two women relaxed into parade rest, hands clasped behind their backs. " I apologise for the lateness of your briefing, comrades. You are probably wondering why we called you in at such a sensitive hour." The two women nodded their heads, allowing their superior to continue. " The North Vietnamese leadership is plotting a massive offence, during the Vietnamese new year and they have expressed interest in our Infiltration operations, specifically using female operatives such as yourselves. Colonel?" Petrov turned to the thin simply dressed VC guerrilla beside him who spoke with an educated English accent. " Comrades, a pleasure to meet you. Your Lieutenant Petrov as spoken highly of you and I have a sensitive mission worthy of your particular talents." The small man cleared his throat as he continued. " There is an American Colonel stationed at the Da Nang Firebase, Vince Strong of the 101st Airborne. He was been making life extremely difficult for our operations in this sector, and we wish him to be neutralised. His lackey, Major Stan Bridger is an incompetent buffoon and should be more easy to out manuvere." He turned back to Petrov, who nodded. " Our scouts have located a nearby access road, frequently used by US Army nurses ferrying wounded US soldiers from the frontline to the base and back. This provides you with an excellent opportunity, to infiltrate the base. Eliminate the nurses, steal their uniforms and credentials this should get you in." It was Nguyen who spoke up next. " Our spies in the base, report that the Colonel will be taking his booster shots for Cholera. Use this syringe..." The Viet Cong commander handed Yulia a syringe of clear liquid, which she pocketed. "...It contains concentrated Ricin, which should mask the Colonel's death as natural causes."Petrov unslung a small black canister from around his shoulder, passing it to Svetlana. "You will be needing these as well. Caltrops for the jeep, I'am sure you know how to fix a flat tire." The two women laughed as Svetlana looped the cylinder over her shoulder. " I cannot stress the importance if this assignment, comrades. This could very well determine the course of the entire war. Do you have any questions, before you head out?" Yulia cocked her head up. " Once we get onto the base, what are rules of engagement?" The sound of her American accent caught the Vietnamese colonel by surprise, Petrov smiled with pride at his shock. " Impressive, most Impressive. We would prefer you not kill anyone on the base, aside from the target and alarms must not be raised. You must be like shadows." The two women nodded their understanding. " We can do that sir, we won't let you down." Answered Svetlana as the two paratroops glanced at each other, smirking. Nguyen smiled at their confidence. " After meeting the two of you, I don't doubt it. Now I have other duties, that require my attention. I look forward to writing a favourable report, to the supreme leader himself. A good day to you both, Petrov, I will require your assistance." Petrov shot a curt look to the man's back, before he flashed a quick salute to his paratroopers. " Good luck, Comrades Polikova and Sidorova. Do the VDV and the party proud. Fall out!" The two women returned the salutes, as Petrov turned on his heels and walked out of the tent.
Access Road, 4km from AFB Da Nang 08:30am
US Army Nurses Corporal Sally Cochrane and Private Nancy Macmillan, sped down the access road towards AFB Da Nang in their Willy's jeep, a wounded Private, " Hannigan" according his bloodied open uniform shirt, perched on the hood on a stretcher. The sound of "Paint it Black" by The Rolling Stones blearing from their radio, serving to calm the wounded soldier whom they had stabilised with morphine and a plasma drip. They had just come from the front lines, with the unfortunate Private having suffered from multiple gunshots from 7.62mm rounds, the proximity of the front lines to the Airbase had precluded a medevac by chopper. At both 23, Sally and Nancy had just completed their medical training before being shipped out to Vietnam where they had been deployed for only a few weeks, at the Da Nang Field Hospital not long enough to get to know their fellow nurses but long enough to make a difference. They were both lookers, Sally with her medium length dark brown hair, high cheekbones, rounded features and narrow blue eyes. And Nancy with her medium length straight blonde hair dangling on her soldiers, shallow cheekbones and heart shaped features with almond shaped deep brown eyes. They were both dressed in matching green US Army fatigues, which consisted of uniform shirt with their names on their left breasts, US ARMY stencilled on their right breasts their ranks stitched on the left lepel and the Asclepius pinned on the right, the flashes of the US Army Medical Corps on their right soldiers. And combat trousers with black laced ankle combat boots. " How's our patient looking, Sally?" Nancy said as she kept her eyes on the jungle road. "He's stable, enough for now." Sally replied as she held up the plasma drip above the soldier, who let out a small moan of pain, gripping onto the body of the jeep to keep herself stable. " But if we don't get him back to Da Nang soon, we are going to lose him." Taking that as her cue, Nancy pressed her foot down on the accelerator. Suddenly she heard a sharp bang, as one of their tries blew out as they rounded the corner. " Fuck! A God damn blowout. Hold on!" Nancy managed to regain control of the jeep, bringing the vehicle to a halt in a road ditch, the young soldier let out a small groan of pain as they lurched forward. " Are you okay, Sal?" Nancy said as she rubbed the back of her neck. To her credit, Sally had kept the plasma drip aloft despite the sudden violence of their stop. "I'am but this poor soldier, doesn't have long. Go fix that blowout, I will stay with our patient here." Flashing her friend a quick smile as she switched off the radio, Nancy got out of the jeep walking towards the spare tire in the back. As she walked to the rear of the jeep, Nancy's foot caught something sharp recoiling back, she knelt to pick it up. It was a strange four pronged metal object, shaped like a star, and very sharp. " What the fuck!?" She said as a sound from the treeline caught her attention, looking up Nancy saw two camouflaged female figures emerge from the bush, suppressed revolvers raised. A hammer and sickle pin in their blue berets. Soviets, here?! But how? thought Nancy. Before she could shut out a warning to Sally, Nancy saw a small muzzle flash from the lead soldiers gun. She felt her head snap back, as she collapsed on the road. The last sound, Nancy Macmillan heard before she died was the sound of another suppressed shot as her friend Sally was also gunned down.
Yulia stood over the dead corpse of the Army Nurse Private Macmillan, the woman's beauty marred by the neat red hole in her forehead. " Right let's get these two stripped, be careful with the blood. We need the uniforms relatively clean." Svetlana nodded walking around the side of the jeep, dragging the nurse named Cochrane from the jeep around to Yulia. " So are we taking everything? Dog tags? Underwear?" Svetlana asked as they dragged the two dead women into the bush, hands under their armpits. Yulia nodded as they laid the corpses down. " And what about the wounded soldier? He is a witness." Yulia began to strip out of her VDV uniform. "Well we did all we could to save him, but he unfortunately died of his wounds." She said with tone of mock sadness, as she knelt naked at the body of Private Macmillan, leaning it up against her, unbuttoning the woman's shirt. Both women chuckled as they started to strip the dead nurses. Yulia finished unbuttoning the nurses shirt, slipping it loose from her shoulders letting her corpse fall back to the jungle floor. After removing the girls boots, Yulia unbuttoned the woman's trousers, working them off her hips and down her long divine legs, revealed a pair of solid black hipster shorts. Flicking the girl's arms up, Yulia pulled her undershirt followed by her sheer olive vest, taking care not to sully the underwear with blood, exposing her well formed slightly pointed C-cup breasts with pink perky areolas. Then she whipped off the dead woman's hipster shorts, revealed a small clit crowned with a trimmed strip of honey blood hair. Looking over to Svetlana, Yulia could see that she was already getting dressed in the stolen uniform of Corporal Sally Cochrane, standing over the naked toned athletic body of the dead nurse. Her small but buoyant B-cup breasts with small circular areolas and fuller vulva with a trimmed triangle of brown fuzz crowning it. After they finished getting dressed in their stolen uniforms, and stripping the corpses of their dog tags, including watches and jewellery, the two paratroopers stashed their VDV uniforms into their backpacks stashing them beside the naked corpses of the nurses. Leaving the bodies in the bush, Svetlana policed the scene removing any trace of the caltrops as Yulia walked towards the wounded man on the stretcher. As the man looked up at her groggily, Yulia dispassionately put her hand over the man's nose and mouth. He buckled and struggled thrashing his arms in a desperate attempt to thrown Yulia off. But it was to no avail, after 30 seconds his muffled cries turned to silence as his arms fell limply to his side. Panting with sheer adrenaline of the kill, Yulia moved to the back of the jeep as Svetlana helped her in changing the tire. With that finished, and their disguises acquired the two Soviets clambered into the jeep. After starting the ignition, and switching on the radio they drove down the road to AFB Da Nang, listening to White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.
AFB Da Nang 9:15am
Using their disguises and their "wounded man, the two VDV Paratroopers were able to drive past the perimeter checkpoint, with a little finessing from Svetlana " Open up! We have a wounded man here!" She cried as the US soldiers quickly opened up the checkpoint, without even pausing to check their IDs or the man's condition. After flashing the men quick salutes, they drove up to the location of the field hospital pulling up outside a long medical tent as a young redheaded nurse walked towards them, her name was Connors according to her uniform, her three stripes on her lapel marked her as a Sergeant. "What do we have here?" She as she approached the dead man on the stretcher. Overhead Yulia could hear the distinctive roar of Bell Iroquois chopper's overhead and the distinct sound of Red, White and Blue by Clearance Clearwater Revival in the distance. She let the choppers pass before she spoke. "His name was Pvt Hannigan. He had multiple gunshot wounds from 7.62mm rounds. Unfortunately, he died on the way here." She glanced at Svetlana. "Poor man. We did all we can to save him, but his wounds were too severe." She said selling the lie. Connors sighed as she checked his pulse finding none. "Damn it, not another one." As she moved to take the man's tags, she glanced at the two fake nurses. " Hey, ladies. Don't beat yourselves up, while it's a nice sentiment hoping we can save them all..." The nurse glanced side long to a row of bloodied corpses, covered over with green sheets. "... it doesn't always work out that way." When the woman finished pocketing his tags, she gestured to Svetlana. " Corporal Cochrane? Give me a hand with him will you?" Svetlana flashed her a quick salute, as she assisted Conners with Hannigans body with Yulia following close behind. When they had finished laying him next in line, closing his eyes and covering him over with a sheet, Connors looked at them. " Why don't you take five minutes grab a quick coffee, maybe a smoke before you head back out there?" The two fake nurses flashed quick salutes before bading her farewell. As the redheaded sergeant walked away, the paratroopers scanned around for the inoculation tent. Yulia smiled as they found it, gently whispering into Svetlana's ear they approached the tent.
They found the tent manned by a single nurse a pretty private, with short light brown hair, cut into a short pixie cut the name on her chest read "Abernathy" She looked up and smiled at the two fake nurses. " Morning, ladies." The woman flashed Yulia a quick salute, seeing the stripes on her stolen shirt. " What can I help you with, corporal?" Yulia quickly returned the salute. "We have been sent to assist you, with Colonel Strong's shot." To their surprise Abernathy, relaxed breathing out a sigh of relief. " Thank god! Finally they listened to my complaints. Speaking freely, that bastard is such a grab ass. He does it every time he's down here, whether to me or any of the other nurses. You must have had some experience of his wandering hands." Sensing an opportunity Svetlana moved to distract her, while Yulia swapped out the syringes placing the poison in place of the shot. " Believe me, I know what that's like Abernathy. But you shouldn't let it get you down, we are all serving women here. Don't worry, the bastard won't try it again strength in numbers, right?" The pretty nurse laughed as Svetlana laid a hand on her shoulder. "Thanks, private I needed that. Would you li-" The sight of an heavy set man standing in the tent opening, a full silver bird in the lapel of his uniform, interrupted Private Abernathy. "Attention!" Yulia cried as the three women flashed him quick salute. " At ease, ladies. I'am here for my regular shot. Gotta keep the bugs away, after all." The Colonel said as he walked past, tapping Abernathy's ass on the way past. Inwardly, Yulia felt nothing but disgust for this man on how he treated the women under his command, but in her experience the Red Army was no better. Taking a deep breathe, that barely hid her own disgust, Abernathy flashed him a fake smile. " Then take a seat, Colonel. Let's make this quick, Nurse." She said gesturing to Yulia, to assist her while Svetlana turned to prepare some antiseptic. As Yulia walked to the right hand hand of the Colonel, Abernathy gestured to her to pass her the syringe. After passing her the deady needle, Yulia stood with her hands behind her observing the pretty nurse flick the needle then plunged it into the man's arm. "Ow! Take it easy doll! There's no need to get rough." Abernathy shot him a dirty look, as Svetlana applied antiseptic and a plaster to the injection site, Yulia smiled she found herself becoming a little attracted to the young nurse. " Right! Thanks ladies. Well back to the war!" He said, smacking Yulia's ass as he jumped off the chair. As the three of them threw him salutes, Yulia smiled knowing that the lecherous bastard would be dead within the hour. Abernathy turned to the two of them. " Hey you guys want to grab a quick coffee or a smoke? I have an hour free?" The two fake nurses shook their heads. "Sorry, private we would like to but we are both on call. Perhaps another time?" Abernathy looked a little disappointed by thanked them for their help, bading the girl farewell the two VDV Paratroopers walked out of the tent then clambered into the jeep. Switching on the ignition, and flicking on the radio, the two Soviet paratroopers drove out of Da Nang AFB while listening to Ain't go not Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones.
Viet Cong Jungle Encampment 10:15am
"According to our spies inside Da Nang, Colonel Strong as suffered from a sudden heart attack very tragic. His subordinate Major Bridget is about recieve a sudden promotion, well done comrades!" Said Lieutenant Petrov as he saluted both women, Colonel Nguyen also flashed them a salute. " You were not overstating the extent of their training or abilities, most impressive. Lieutenant. I shall be submitting a report to the supreme leader, we are very interested in developing our own Infiltration units in preparation for the great Tet endeavour." Yulia and Svetlana stood in the command tent, now redressed in their full VDV uniforms. " Thank you, Comrade-Lieutenant, Comrade-Colonel, for allowing us to serve the great communist crusade." Yulia said as the two women flashed the officers quick salutes, which were returned. " Go get some rest and something to eat. You have both earned it, dismissed." After another quick salute, the two women left the command tent and walked over to a nearby rocky outcropping that overlooked the small VC encampment. Taking out a cigarette from her pocket, Yulia gave it to Svetlana before she took one for herself. " Looks like this isn't going to be a long war after all." She smiled as she lit it blowing out a long stream of blue smoke. "Well, we did just change the entire course of the war." Svetlana joked as she took a long drag from her cigarette. The two women laughed as could hear the distant sound of We have gotta get of this place! from a nearby radio.

Good Story
If there are no patients in the ambulance (the wounded have been to the hospital, they are returning to the front line).
I think they could use a dead nurse as a "patient," but that would mean not taking off the nurse's uniform.
Three nurses, or just one assassin.
Another option is to wait for some "bad luck" passing by.

Thank you for enjoying the story, these are one of a few ideas that Soviet and I discussed when we put together the story.
Most of the concept came from Soviet, including the setting, locale and the weapons used by the VDV paratroopers. I would like to thank her, for her input and invaluable assistance in bringing this story to the board.
