Personal Profile

Tanya Chernova was born to Yuri Chernov and Olga Chernova, her father was a retired KGB case officer, her mother a secretary. Tanya excelled in both physical education and intellectual pursuits, Tanya is a keen fencer and a chess prodigy. She holds both a Bachelors and Masters degree from Moscow State University aged only 16, and has an IQ of 179. Tanya later enlisted in the Russian Army, serving with the 44th Aerial Support Detachment., becoming a certified Helicopter pilot, flying Mil28 air cranes and later Iluyshin Havoc Gunships. She is shown to have had a spotless record, serving tours in Georgia, Chechnyna and Syria, but never decorated. Tanya was later recruited into the GRU as an assassin, a period of her life that she describes as a waste. After refusing to kill the family of a political enemy of President Putin, Tanya had to flee her native Russia. Finding employment in the Shadow Initiative, where she was been active for 3 years

While not as prolific a killer as Vesper was, Tanya has resorted to violent means using her GRU garrote as her preferred method of execution. On at least 3 occasions killing civilians to acquire disguises.

The Introduction of Nightingale into the team makeup, as seen a marked change in Tanya who like the others in the team, as rejected lethality for the more subtle approach. Throughout the campaigns to defeat the SEB and Darkwatch, Tanya as shown courage, adaptability and resilience particularly during her and Lupa's capture by SEB forces. Her skill in Helicopter piloting playing a pivotal role in the recent apprension of Dr Cross.

Tanya is currently dating Operative Lupa and is on leave on the private island owned by Vesper and Nightingale.

Psychological Profile

Tanya derives no pleasure from the act of killing, only seeing it as a professional necessity, she was often seen praying for forgiveness after each mission. However, Tanya as shown a deep dislike of Americans, seeing them as arrogant, barbaric and superior. Tanya as accepted the new Marrakech Proclamations. Seeing the non-lethal approach as the perfect platform to develop new ideas, Tanya is responsible for the concept and creation of the shock glove, utilising the versatility of the Vagus nerve pinch and combining it with the stopping power of the venerable shock pistol. Tanya as a reputation for being methodical, and for being a little bit of a perfectionist, as well being a hopeless romantic. The other members of group 6, refer to her as Granny Tanya, but not to her face.

Like the others, Tanya as shown to take pleasure in rendering women unconscious and conducting disguises, and to show a degree of humour in even the most stressful of situations. While Tanya as been with other women in the past, Lupa is her first real relationship and so far Tanya as proven to be a devoted and affectionate lover.

I have no doubt that Tanya is the backbone of Group 6, will be a key member in future operations.

Indeed I always thought it was the best stealthy method to render a woman unconscious, like, for example, a patrolling female sentry. All that it takes is for the attacker to slip up behind the woman and apply the pinch to that one key spot on her neck.

The pinch causes a massive disruption of the woman's nervous system essentially paralyzing her as she is being knocked out thereby preventing her from defending herself. Soon enough her CNS shuts down and she is knocked out. But not before the manipulation of her Vague Nerve causes her to become aroused and maybe even have a bit of an orgasm.

The only problem is the pinch only lasts about an hour. Therefore, Mira's concept of the glove combining the electric shock is perfect to make the pinch last a much longer time.

It really is amazing technology. The fact it can shut down down the victim's CNS but somehow it allows her heart and lungs to still work.

And the way it tricks the woman's brain to go into "sleep reset mode" thereby putting her into a deep a long lasting sleep.

And on top of that, it wipes out her short term memory as well.

Vesper was also bitten by the bug, in her bio she used her chemistry degree to develop the Morpheus gas and put them into 20mm grenades.
