I guess she is supposed to be the hero since she is sneaking into the villain's lair but she certainly gave that poor girl a pretty hard bonk on the head.

I think she's the hero. She seems hesitant to knock the girl out and has a guilty look on her face after that. Little sympathetic touches that separate the "good" USBs from the "bad" ones, I suppose...
