Project Boussh: Which Way to the Exit?

by Vickie Boyd

She awoke with a start. The room was cold and stark. Cautiously, she
pushed herself up to a sitting position. She was surprised that she
wasn't tied to the bed. However, the grogginess didn't surprise her.
*They must have drugged me,* she thought.

Looking around, she found she was in what she guessed to be a room in
the medical bay. Slowly, she pushed herself off the bed. Yes, her legs
held. She padded to the door, only to jump back as it opened.

"Ah, you have awakened," said the woman.

*She must be a doctor or a nurse.* "Where am I?"

"You are in medical. You just got out of bacta therapy. Now, go back and
lay on the bed."

*Medical? Oh yes, the fight with Erisi. The cloning tanks!* "I have to
get out of here!"

The woman pulled out an instrument of some sort. "Don't make me have to
use this."

"You won't, but I will." She grabbed the woman's wrist and wrenched the
hypo from her. "Say goodnight, Gracie." She stabbed the woman with the
needle.

The woman gasped as she felt the sedative flow through her body and she
collapsed to the floor in a heap.

*I can't go out like this,* she thought, looking down at the hospital
gown. The woman looked to be about her size. Quickly, she undressed the
unconscious woman and put on her clothes. She moved to the door and
cracked it open.

The hallway was empty. Quietly, she moved out and to the left. A mouse
droid skittered between her feet as she took her first steps. She jumped
and the droid squealed. "Nonono, wait. Don't tell anyone."

The little droid squeaked and squealed at her, turning back and forth in
front of her.

"You're going to fast," she said. She pushed her goggles up and rubbed
her eyes. Concentrating on the Force, she listened closely to the droid.
"Oh, you think I'm a doctor. No, I'm not. I need to get to a computer
terminal though. Can you help me with that?"

The little box on wheels squealed happily and spun around, taking off
down the hall. She sighed as she followed. *This is going to be
interesting.*

She followed the droid around several corners. Luckily, they met no one.
It stopped in front of a door, beeped and the door opened. She
cautiously approached and looked into the room. It looked to be an
office. She walked in and moved to the desk.

Sitting in the chair, she turned to the computer. A holo sat bedside the
terminal. *Oh, so that's who I drugged.* The picture was of the doctor
and Thrawn standing before several tanks of a strange design. She pulled
her eyes away from the holo and to the screen.

She typed away, trying to find the directory or anything on the
computer. A password screen came up and she flinched. Luckily, her mind
was ahead of her. Almost by instinct she typed D N A.

The screen flooded with information. It scrolled by too quick for her to
read. She waited until it finished and typed dir. The directory came up
and she searched for something that might help. *Hm, security alerts.
Let's try that.*

The alerts screen came up and flashed. She read the report. It seemed
there was a breakout in cellblock 1138. A smirk crossed her face as she
thought of the familiar line. "The princess? Put all sectors on alert."

Several camera feeds were available from the escape. She pulled up the
videos and played them in one window. In one, she could make out five
figures running across the landing bay floor. She paused and enhanced
the image. "Why that son of a..."

Something caught her eye in a separate video feed. Dorset Konnair was
being manhandled by an Imperial lackey. "Damn Pol. He's going to leave
without her or me." She scanned the video for its location. "I guess
it's going to be up to me."

She stood and nearly tripped over the little mouse droid. It had stayed
with her. "Why are you still here?"

It squeaked and whistled to her.

"I've never heard of a personal mouse droid before, but hey, I'm not one
to argue. I do need help to find Dorset. Can you show me how to get
here?" She pointed to the video feed that still showed the A-Wing pilot
struggling with the soldier.

The little droid beeped happily and took off out the door.
