She soft-pedals her words, confessing that a momentary lapse of professional jealousy clouded her judgment. Em, entirely disarmed by the unexpected display of contrition and smiling with a sense of restored confidence, readily agrees with the assessment, completely unaware that the olive branch is nothing more than a carefully constructed trap.
