It makes for a great, great scene. Clinton goes up to Abigail and tells he Ms. Cavill and her maid need some water. We are shown Nancy noticing this when as you say: "In the crowd she nodded to Clinton who pulled over two young waitresses, one the girl who had shown to her room, the other an attractive auburn haired girl." Love the idea of the nod that no one else would notice but Clinton could see as "those two will do fine". Then Abigail and Constance obediently follow his instructs and are off. Perhaps under his breath Clinton says "sorry girls" as he eyes up their cute asses as they walk off.

Definitely see the similarity to Mission Impossible with a group of infiltrators working as a team. Fun to picture the team sizing up the poor women that will be their victims.

And we can also imagine a follow up scene. We would see Abigail and Constance sitting in McClaine's office wrapped in blankets with a couple of McClaine's guards standing behind them.

McClaine comes in, sits down and says: "Wound one of you two women like to explain how two of my waitresses ended up getting found by my guards naked and unconscious in a closet?"

Abigail responds "I sorry Mr. McClaine but we don't really know what happened. Mr. O'Hara told us to deliver Ms. Cavill and her maid some water. We delivered the water when Ms. Cavill grabbed me from behind and squeezed my neck hard. She said something about my dress and then I passed out. Then, as I start to wake up, Ms. Cavill comes over, sits on my lap and stuck some kind of needle in my neck. Next thing I know I woke up here."

McClaine then takes a long look at them and looks at Constance and says: "Is this true?"

Constance responds "Yes sir. However, I don't remember being injected with anything."

McClaine then says "I have half a mind to have my guards take you both out and string you up. You realize thanks you both losing your dresses those two woman managed to knock out two of my guards and steal from me? Well, I guess you were fooled by O'Hara too. He'll be the one strung up. But you two are fired. Get out of my sight!"

But of course we can hope that Abigail and Constance will be saved when Nancy and Sand rescue Clinton and bring an end to McClaine's control of the town!

That is the two guards simultaneously sliding down the wall as the drug puts them to sleep. There is something sexy about that to me. I always like the image woman sliding down the wall as she goes unconscious. I always really enjoyed the scene Holly sliding down the wall in "To Free a Nightingale" after Vesper knocked her out with a nerve pinch. And of course there is the great scene in the episode of Chuck where the two female guards both simultaneously slide down the wall after being hit with the tranq darts.

Definitely a good take on the "dumb guard" trope. Although, in fairness to the women, Nancy and Sand looked the part of waitresses. Still they should have known better.

It actually also adds a fun touch that Abigail and Constance had been neutralized for just one reason. To allow Nancy and Sand to trick the guards. Then the waitress outfits were quickly discarded.

However, even thought they only need the uniforms for a short period of time they still needed to be put to sleep and kept out of sight. This resulted in two great comments from Clinton. First we get "It's laudanum. We need it to keep them quiet for the next three hours." and then "Right let's get them stashed away, so we can discuss the next stage of the plan."

Yep, it was all part of Clinton's well worked meticulous plan that could only be achieved by the skills of Nancy and Sand and all three plsying their parts to perfection. Even though they only needed the waitresses clothes for about 10-15 minutes, they still needed to be professional and keep Abigail and Constance out of sight and mind so the plan wouldn't be rumbled.
