Sad news indeed. At least there's still pixiv. In spite of its imperfections, it's still safer than DeviantArt. I believe more than one former Deviantart artists have taken refuge on Pixiv after their Deviantart Profile was erased.

speaking from experience, i hope it will last...once they're on your trail..
I had to open over 20 accounts under several usernames and they all got suspended (saying it's ban evading bla bla bla")
(and to reupload everything again and getting the watchers back is a pain..especially wshen you know you get banned again sooner or later)

Deviantart sucks and I really hope they run out of business - better sooner than later

even the bigger assholes than the YouTube Idiots....
but once they want get rid of you, it gets hard..(I tried everything, delete every cookie, use a different PC, VPN etc..(reuploading a different file (which is easy since I usually upload screenshots or a frame from a video which is not the same file s before) but sooner or later I will have to open account No. 23 or so...but of course we can't expect everybody being such a stubborn pain in the neck like me..

I can only recommend: keep calm and get back and don't let the DeviantArt Suckers win.
I would upload everything on ArtUntamed or so....
