Hi Stormtrooper,
Previously, I used to sketch out on paper, then scan the work into my computer to finish up with photoshop. It used to take me 2 days for a panel. Now with a tablet, a sketch (this one) took me only 3 hours from nothing to finish.

Previously, I used to sketch out on paper, then scan the work into my computer to finish up with photoshop. It used to take me 2 days for a panel. Now with a tablet, a sketch (this one) took me only 3 hours from nothing to finish.

That's really nice going mate, and the quality is still excellent whether you sketched it out on paper or on a tablet. From 2 days to three hours is extraordinary!

From one artist to another all I can say is keep the good work!

Cuccut, this piece is superb.
It's been nearly ten years since the nerve damage in my hand caused me to stop drawing.
I worked with pencils and inks on various types and sizes of paper.
Whenever submitting professional grades work to companies, I worked off of 11X17 bristol board.
But, when drawing comics for my own enjoyment, like those I shared with this group, I used 8X10 copy paper. Because many of my comics were from decades back, before computer printer paper was commonplace.
So, it blows me away that people are actually drawing on tablets these days. No more paper? No wonder Dunder Mifflin went out of business in the first episode of "The Paper". Spoiler Alert!

It's amazing knowing you use to worked in art as a professional. It was very cool!
For me art was just an afterwork hobby. I work as an architect for a living.
I think tablets are great for sketch out poses and save them as collections (an instance benefit, you can duplicate a core/torso pose and try as many limbs possitions as you like without broken the original pose and the paper)
But I think you are right, using the pencils I find it more free to use the whole arm for drawing, instead of just the wrist, and I do miss the "dirty" effect of pencil dust hanging over the paper. I guess I'll find the balance of traditional drawing and digital one.
