"These are needles containing sodium amytal. 10cc’s of this little beauty into the woman's neck and they are sleeping as soundly as the führer after a rally. Should keep them fast asleep for around 8 hours.”

Thank you my friend, historically sodium amytal was used by both sides during WW2 as a sedative to ease the pain of wounded soldiers after a battle. Or during an operation as a general anaesthetic, and usually it would keep a person under for as long as the 8 hours described. The comment made by Hedwig is referencing the fact that Hitler did indeed use it as a sleeping aid after a particularly strong rally or meetings with his general staff.

Just like the Laudanum described in Red Rock , it did carry a risk of addiction. But in the case of the women in this story, they will all recover albeit with slight headaches and dry mouth.

Of course, I will be sure to pass along your thanks to Hilde and the Major for a job well done. And thanks for enjoying the story.

It must be a magnificent site from where you live then, I hear it's the tallest peak in Italy. I was glad to do, what remains one of the finest examples of a special operation justice.
