I couldn't agree more! Valentina's identity is protected so that makes lethal unnecessary and the authorities will be left with a very confusing scene. They will now a crimes been committed, sure. But not by whom or what the motives could have been, eventually because of the lack of leads, reliable witnesses or clues the investigation will go cold and Valentina is in the clear.
I have always thought those kind of concepts can add an interesting touch to the story. You can imagine a sentry being found unconscious and in her bra and panties. Her superiors will try and get what ever information they can but she will remember nothing.
They will try everything maybe even placing her under hypnosis to recover the memories. However, she will remember nothing from when she arrived for her shift.
Me too, they would make perfect epilogues. You can picture the young pretty sentry in the medbay, still in her undies but at least she has a blanket over her to protect her modesty. They ask her all sorts of questions but she cannot tell them what she doesn't remember. The doctor then explains just what happen to her.
I like your suggestion that eventually the superiors lose their patience and deploy the hypnotist, but to no avail.
In fact this gives me an idea to add a little epilogue to the Night Fox story we've been discussing. Maybe where Sheena and Erica are questioned by the police or FBI?
