A scene in a Pokemon (fan)game?! - Pokemon Z

Post by rufusluciusivan »

Hello everyone! I didn't know exactly where to post this. It's not a clip - but I wouldn't exactly call it pictures either, so I'll do what I did the last times I found Uniform Stealing content in amateur videogames (Didnapper, Didnapper II, A Drow's Life) and upload it here.

Long story short, on my leisure time, when I'm not writing USB content I play videogames. And sometimes, good old nostalgia gets to me and I download a Pokémon fangame. Lately, I was playing Pokémon Z, a fangame developed by a guy named Eric Lostie that takes place in a 17th-18th Century-inspired realm. And then, out of nowhere, I came across a USB scene which is (given the material) quite decent!

For context, three main characters need to enter the palace of the King, and one comes up with a plan to disguise themselves as musketeers. He however mentions he only has two sets of uniforms, which means the main character (you) will have to steal the outfit of a musketeer (after defeating them in a Pokémon battle - this is still a Pokémon game). Then you put the musketeer to sleep with sleep powder for a couple of hours. Now, as with many Pokémon games, at the start you choose if the protagonist is a boy or a girl, and if you chose the girl the game is actually programmed to take it into account. So you're indeed mugging a female musketeer! The scene is light-hearted and parodic but if you like humorous scenes, this one is funny.

To be honest, it's nothing to write about comparatively to other scenes, and the graphics are those of a Pokémon game. However, the very fact there is a proper uniform stealing with an aftermath shown on-screen in a Pokémon property (even though it's a fangame) blew my mind. So I'm sharing it with you.

There are some mistakes in the translation I believe. The original fangame is in Spanish, and it's been translated by a fan so there are errors here and there. (Most importantly at some points the musketeer is designed as "him" even when it's the female version, the translator forgot sometimes to change the pronouns.)

Warning. The upcoming translation oversight will make your eyes bleed. :P

Poor musketeer... I'm not sure she'll ever recover from the blow to her self-esteem... You just can't mock a woman's fashion style! Especially when you're about to steal said fashion style!

Yes, I took 30 minutes to take screenshots, upload them, and write this message, but I just had to share it with you. That took me completely by surprise!

Well I for one am really happy that you did take the time to share this as it really is a great scene.

I don't know why, but I do like these sort of scenes. Thank you for sharing! :D

You're welcome. The scene takes place after 10-12 hours of gameplay, so when I noticed it was decent enough I immediately resetted and took screenshots.

Reminds me of the usb scene from another 2d game "Tales of Symphonia" which I think was mentioned here or on one of the previous boards. In case it wasn't, the protagonists ambush 3 guards, two of which are female. They use one of the liberated uniforms as a disguise, which belonged to one of the females. You don't see an aftermath of the scene but considering the skimpy design of the uniform it's unlikely that guard was left wearing anything 😀

Didn't think this scene would get so many reactions, thanks guys. At least I know it was worth sharing.

I vaguely recall the Tales of Symphonia scene. Maybe I read it on the Mugged for Disguise Tv Trope page?

Edit: Forgot to post one screenshot. Nothing much, except it features the joke the woman begs "Please don't do it, my self-esteem won't be able to handle it!" after the battle.
