I believe you're right. It looks like that dude suffocated the poor nurse.
That's too bad.
For the story's sake, It makes perfect sense redressing the nurse in the patients outfit.
However, for our sake, it would've been awesome to see a shot of the nurse's underwear clad body, before it's quickly concealed beneath a sheet.

I don't think the dialogue is related to the nurse; the show doesn't confirm one way or the other whether she was killed.
