The Woes of a Board Writer and a Plea

Post by Stormtrooper1990 »

Hi everyone

It as been a while since I brought anything up in General Discussion but recently something compels me to stand on my soapbox.

I speaking of the critical lack of feedback that some of the writers on the board have been getting of late. Recently my dear friend and fellow board writer, SovietLUT posted two very good stories on the board and as recieved nothing in the way of feedback from anyone. And then I recently posted my latest collaboration with Arc The Portrait Plot, and recieved no feedback either. This of course is very crippling to writers. I understand that many of you are split down the middle on terns of lethal or non-lethal, but isn't the important thing to champion and nuture talent? To appreciate a story on its merits, rather solely on taste? I will of course continue to write what I enjoy and collaborate with my fellow writers to bring you the very best in uniform/clothes stealing content. I urge my fellow writers to do the same.

And now a plea to fellow members, please do not hesitate to leave comments when you read our stories. Even PMs are worthwhile. Whether it's a positive comment, words of praise or a critique, don't hesitate to comment.

Like the old song says "Don't you forget about Me." But in this case, it's us.

Thank you for listening.

Stormy, you have my heartfelt sympathy

I have to recognize that this is one of the most sad issues we cope with; the lack of response to stories provided to this board by excellent writers; it's a real threat to the board as a community.

nevertheless, I can say that it's a long time problem, and I remember some writers and friends stopping contributions and eventually leaving the board because of it.
And the problem is not simply confined to the "writer's corner", I notice too few " thanks for sharing" to render artists etc

unfortunately, this is not something a moderator can solve, especially since , in a private conversation, a friend of mine called the USB board "your blog"- this alarmed me, and I stopped flooding the board with my comments

Stormy, I am sorry, and I hope you can find the needed strength to go on ...my advice is what I have written to another friend ( hi, Muskra, I know you are here ) almost ten years ago

...to stay at this board, one must act like a warrior monk, not expecting any help and with an unshakable devotion to the cause
:)

I know, it's impossible, but please remember , being a uniform stealing broad is a reward in itself

cheers

I can only speak for myself; I just steer clear of a lot of those stories because I don't like reading about dead women. I'm sure there are other posters who feel the same way, and it's nothing personal.

Some people just also aren't very good at articulating consistent feedback. I'm a huge fan of tirepanted3's work but I don't comment a lot because I don't have a lot to say other than "Another great installment!"

Stormtrooper, I've enjoy so many of your stories.
They are well thought out, creative and quite detailed.
I appreciate the time and effort all the various writers and artist put into their work.
As a former artist, I know creating stories and art is a major commitment.
Also, the artist usually must have a passion for their craft, whatever the medium.
With that said:
The reason why I rarely comment on any post is because I'm extremely busy.
I've mentioned on a few occasions that I care for my mother who has severe brain damage.
This frontal lobe damage was brought on by dozens of seizures she took in 2019.
I'm not explaining this for sympathy, it's just to put things in perspective.
I didn't raise my son, but now I know what it's like to have a child.
So, since time is a factor, I don't read too many of the stories posted here.
If I do, it's rare that I'll actually comment. I may just make a quick "Thank You" or "Nice Job".
I hope that explains my lack of participation around here lately.
It's nothing against any of the members.
I stop by USB every day, because it's a great community with lots of wonderful member.
So, Stormtrooper1990, keep writing. You're stories are very entertaining to many members, myself included.
Take care and stay safe, my friends.

Hi Everyone

Thanks for getting back in touch so soon. I appreciate the support and kind words from all of you. Esercito, I'am of course very proud to be a broad writer and I won't let the lack of feedback deter me, in fact it's makes me even more determined to continue my work. I have even more stores in the pipeline, and I'am looking forward to bringing these to writers corner.

I'am sorry to hear that you are busy with life, Darth and I understand that our lives in the outside world, as it were, do overtake our lives on the board. But I appreciate your support and I thank you very much for reading my stories.

Disguised Agent, often just a simple "Great work, my friend!" Or "I don't really like it." Is often enough to brighten a writer's day, as the old saying goes a little goes a long way.

Thank you very much for your support, Dummy76. I will soon have my Cobra sequel on the board, it's in the pipeline.

Thank you all very much for your kind words of support.

I always enjoy your stories and I agree that this board is sometimes like an empty house with too many empty rooms and only echo, that you can hear when you walk around.

Our genre is quite contained, luckily we get a piece of some mainstream media thrown at us but it is not very often. I visit the board daily looking for new content and I agree, I do not post my appreciation often enough, so aall the writers, thank you for all the ahrd work and keep up the good work, it doesn't matter if the story is lethal or not, we enjoy them all

and to all the people who find stuff on pixiv, deviantart, and other places, hats off for you guys, there is soo much... strange stuff surrounding our genre that what you guys might have found and not posted here must have been... strange, to say the least.

I pitty, that there is not so much new content as I would like to see but either way, thank you to everyone who keeps the forum alive, including Johny who hosts us here!

Hi Stormtrooper. I do know from personal experience that when you post a story and don't get comments it can make you feel unappreciated. However, you and all the other amazing writings on here can take solace in the fact even if you don't get a post many of us are reading and loving your stories.

I personally always am trilled when I log onto the Board and find one of your stories or one of the stories from on of the other great writers. Sometimes, for a number of reasons, I may not post (not that it is right that I don't post, it is just a fact). However, it doesn't mean I didn't really enjoy and appreciate the story.
