Rachel licked her lips and looked around the party, narrowing her blue eyes in search of Alexa. There she was, dancing with a governor or mayor or something. She gently pushed a strand of hair back in place and sighed as she strode out to the hallway. Her small knife was strapped in by a buckle on her leg. She slid it out of place. Time for the inner pirate to come out.
She perched behind a column, waiting for a servant girl to come by alone. When a woman about her age stepped into the hall, Rachel jumped out and took her by surprise. She licked the blade of her knife and pounced on the servant.
She stripped the body of the clothes and pushed it into a nearby room where she quickly changed into them. Rachel knew how to dress for a part. She headed out of the room and gronned at herself, taking her hair out of the bow and roughing it up. She dashed back into the ballroom, weaving through a crowd of grumbling guests. When she reached Alexa, she dropped to her knees. "Princess, Princess, there's been a horrible accident in the kitchen! The chef requires your attention at once," she cried, distraught. "Please hurry!"
