Personal Summary


Compared to most other Operatives, Foley had a more traditional upbringing. Born a single child to a wealthy upper middle class family in Beverley Hills, Foley was spoilt from an early age and had everything a rich wealthy girl could ask for. However, it appears that Annabeth grew bored of being spoilt and felt confined by her wealthy lifestyle, seeing it as lacking excitement. While in high school Annabeth fell into a rough crowd, joining a gang of delinquents and falling hard in love for its female leader, this was Foley's first real relationship. Her life changed for the worst when she was involved in a convenience store robbery, which left the shopkeeper dead and one critically injured, who later died of her injuries . It is believed that Foley's lover had fired the fatal shots, and left her holding the gun, she was arrested by police, falsely accused of double murder and robbery. Foley's family had disowned her and left her to face a sentence of 20 to life, but she was approached by a Darkwatch recruiter posing as her lawyer, she disappeared from custody and all official records of Annabeth Foley ended there.



Like Donnelly, Foley was sent to Darkwatch's training camp in Libya to train as a Darkwatch soldier. During her interview, Foley revealed that she was lured into Darkwatch with the promise of redemption and to find her place in the world. Due to her privileged upbringing, Foley was bullied by her fellow Darkwatch recruits all but one, Siobhan Donnelly. The two developed a loving albeit secret relationship over the course of their training, with Donnelly protecting her from her tormenters and teaching her to stand up for herself. Her Darkwatch personnel files also mark her as combative towards being trained to kill, and showing a complete lack of respect for authority. Foley also expressed interest in computer science and programming, but Darkwatch deemed these skills has irrelevant for a Darkwatch sentry. Their frequent clashes with their superiors led the couple to be placed on a punishment detail, to a Darkwatch Operation in Northern Ireland, which would lead the pair to a fateful encounter with Operatives Vesper and Nightingale. After being subdued and having their uniforms stolen by the SOG Operatives, the two would wake up in a Darkwatch hospital. It is an event that the couple agree, that changed their lives forever.



The story of how the couple escaped from Darkwatch's Fort William Medical Facility, as become legend within the Shadow Initiative and is covered in more detail elsewhere in the SI data net. Foley with her lover by her side defected to the SI and after a fortnight of intense debriefing, followed by psychological profiling they were both cleared by Psyops. They both joined the SI's IRT training program and joined Sgt Pavlova's 1st squad 3rd IRT. Where they have both served with distinction, with Foley becoming the teams computer specialist.


Psychological Profile


Growing up privileged and wealthy had left Foley with a mild disdain for those she considered lower then her station, however her time in the Darkwatch training camp had disavowed her of such notions and left her with an inferiority complex. She admitted that she feels lost without Donnelly and often panics when she is not around to guide her, this has led Pavlova to put the two together during operations to maintain unit cohesion. The two are inseparable and rarely seen alone they also share a strong Catholic faith, a bond that not only unites them on a physical level but a spiritual one as well. Despite this, Foley like her wife is not above using force to achieve their objectives but they do strive to preserve human life, showing a complete disdain for killing. However, Foley as shown a slight tendency to derive pleasure from knocking out female marks for disguise purposes, a trait shared by Donnelly. And unlike her wife, Foley as shows a complete lack of empathy towards former Darkwatch employees.


Like her wife, Foley as a close personal friendship with Operatives Nightingale and Vesper, much of the SOG Operatives characteristics rubbing off on them. It is for this reason that the couple have expressed a desire to join the SOG training program.
