The agents are In the height of summer, in Miami, too heavy to go crawling through a vent with clothes on. Irina reasoned that infiltrating a shower, would require you to be naked. Plus it allowed her full freedom of movement, allowing her to eliminate the first cheerleader without getting her clothes wet.

In Russian movies and games, I often see an Asian in the leading role team.
Kazakh or Mongolian.
A character usually designed to shoot accurately.
Or a Caucasian ninja with a samurai knife.
I think it's about diversifying characters, like the game "Commandos"and“Shadow Tactics”.

In my SI and 94 stories. I had victims who were of Asian, Emirati, Indian, and Hispanic origin.

94 is a white clone.

Nightingale is white British

Vesper is Israeli

Mira is White Russian( Like these spys)

Lupa is Chinese.

There are several occasions were they impersonate someone of a different race.

I was thinking of giving the red harvest one more mission. They must move onto another major US city to avoid detection and continue operations.

They are ordered to leave for Atlanta, Georgia, they decide to take the train. They find out that Miami University is sending a team of 5 female students to represent them, at a university quiz competition. The agents decide, to replace them while on the train. They kill them, take their clothes and faces, dump the bodies out of the train.

They arrive in Georgia with their cover intact and proceed to the safehouse.

As the for doing a reverse operation with a US team, that could be tricky. The USSR was a infamously suspicious place, the chances of remaining undetected as a foreign agent were low. In fact not many western agents were dropped into the USSR, those that were were caught quickly, because they had no clue on how to act communist. Which was why operations were usually centered around the Berlin Wall.

Plus, I don't really see the US doing this. They have a more sledgehammer meet nut approach, even in covert operations. Preferring using special forces rather than the subtle tactic of disguise and infiltration

to be fair these are fantasys and no russian kill team was ever operating on US soil in fact by the mid 80s the spying had died down now 50s 60s and 70s those were the decades but your point is still valid

I watched a lot of spy fiction and watched documentaries, that all agree that the golden age of spying was long gone by the eighties.

My inspiration for Red Harvest, was the activities of the Americans, the secret KGB initiative to train Russian born agents, to act American. They would even get married, have children and have real jobs. But spy for the KGB, all without their families knowing. They even had to kill sometimes. Some them were caught, others packed up leaving their families behind and one or two took their families with them.

The TV show The Americans, showcased this. Which was one of my favourite shows on Disney+, partly because I like espionage and partly because I love the eighties.
