Personal Profile

Out of all Group 6, Chang is perhaps the most curious. There is no record of her parents but we do know is that Chang was a ward of the state, in a state run institution. She was destined to be conscripted into the Chinese Red Army, but fled the orphanage. She is extensively trained in Chinese martial arts, and is fluent in English. It is believed that her skill in Computer hacking is self-taught, as is her technical know how. In her own words Chang states that ' On the street, you learn what you have to in order to survive, sometimes you have to take things apart to see how they work then put them back together to make something better.'

What is known is that, Chang come to the attention of the SI after hacking Chongqing Station, and gaining entry. Despite being caught by onsite security personnel, she maintained that ' I knew that place was shifty. Who hires white people in a Chinese restaurant, in China. I only wanted to know what it looked like inside' Instead of turning Chang over to the State, the station head contacted New York and asked to recruit her. She has been with Group 6 ever since.

Chang is often referred to as baby face, by the others on account of her youthful looks. Something that Chang sees as derogatory. Chang as only 4 Kills to her name, but is haunted by one in particular. While on mission to Mexico City, she killed a student and stole her uniform Chang maintains that she still has trouble sleeping most nights. It must be said that Chang is the most understated of the team, that even she doesn't understand the importance of her actions. Indeed she was instrumental in retrieving the SEB files during Operation Eagle Fall, yet doesn't seek any reward nor recognition.

She is currently on leave with her lover Mira, on Vesper and Nightingale's private island.

Psychological Profile

There is a certain childlike naivete about Chang, the others describe her as innocent treating her like a little sister. It is because of this that Chang as difficulty in expressing herself and can come across as distant even aloof, even saying inappropriate things at the wrong times. Many in the SI wish to test her for autism, although in my professional opinion I believe it is unnecessary. Chang as demonstrated a commitment and loyalty to her Group 6' family, time and again. Another curious feature about Chang is that she possesses a strong believe of justice, she hates to see the strong bully the weak.

There are times in which Chang will retreat into her shell, and would rather let a comment slide then to stand up for herself. Although her blossoming relationship with Mira as lead to a positive change in Chang's behaviour. Around Mira, Chang is more assertive and expressive. Chang also wears her heart on her sleeve and cares deeply for her friends and loved ones. Even going so far as to call Nightingale 'Big Sis'.

During her capture, Chang showed a resilience and courage that no-one had even anticipated. Despite being beaten and tortured, Chang refused to talk. Later Chang said ' I was looking out for my family, no one rats on their family. '


It is because of these characteristics, that I recommend that Chang be approved for promotion to full Operative status.
