When I was growing up in the 80's, here in the U.S., you could only watch The Avengers on P.B.S. (Public TV).
It came on weeknights after midnight, in Philly. I would stay up really late & watch it after reruns of Columbo.
Sure Dr. David Keel, Cathy Gale & Tara King were cool partners for John Steed, but non of them were half as memorable as Emma Peel.
Peel has grace, style, sex appeal & could kick any man or woman's ass.
Her character was far ahead of her time, before female empowerment was even a thing.
Diana Rigg was such an icon & will be missed.
