Several moments into her journey across Rukongai Mei came upon a the body of a female shinigami, clearly killed in combat during the attack that had taken place here. Mei overlooked the woman's body and came to the conclusion that they wore almost the same sized clothing, so she quickly stripped the woman down and dawned her disguise. The blood on the outfit could easily be explained should someone ask about it, but right now she would easily be able to pull off being one of the many shinigami strewn across Rukongai, lost without a word from their unit. She continued onward but sensed Kagirin Sachi's reiatsu moving rather far away. She hurried onward until she came upon the scene where the Captains were meeting up at. Just as she arrived, however, Ukitake vanished and so did Ikkimaru. It would seem that she had missed the party, but then she spotted Shinku and Ayaka nearby and figured that they had to know what was happening. She rushed over to them and fell down at their feet, making sure that the blood on her uniform was visible as she did so. "Help me, you have to help!" She cried, "Please... what's going on around here? I came out here in search for my Captain and got attacked by some strange hollow!" She scrambled to get up and ended up grabbing onto Shinku's pant-leg and ended up staring up at him with beautiful puppy-dog eyes, eyes that screamed in terror. Her act was extremely believable.
