Scene in a videogame: Didnapper 2

Post by rufusluciusivan »

Some of you may remember this old post about a stealing uniform scene featured in the amateur RPG Maker videogame called Didnapper: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2236&p=3512&hilit=didnapper#p3512

Well, luckily for us, they've done it again in their new game, Didnapper 2. Set in the same unnamed world, the game is starring Seles: an Aion, a type of natural magic user, who works as a problem fixer in her hometown of Bellia in order to help the townfolk and make a living while at it. However, after confronting her childhood rivals/town bullies, she's kidnapped by a mysterious female pirate and taken away on a ship.

In the second chapter of the game, Seles and her first companion called Aden, have to infiltrate a manor in order to rescue the daughter of a noble family, who was kidnapped by a rival family. What is the best course of action? Well, grab a couple of maids, steal their uniforms, truss them up and hide them in crates of course! I have to admit, this scene got me hyped. While Didnapper and its sequel are centered around the Damsel in Distress trope in general and not uniform stealings, the fact that this scene is part of the main plot and happens very soon (Chapter 2) makes me hope that there could be other scenes later. Also, I absolutely love this kind of scenarios: good guys having to mug innocent bystanders for the good of the mission.

If you're interested, I invite you to get the free demo on their Deviantart Group : https://www.deviantart.com/thedidnappergroup . Normally the open demo features Chapter 2, in which this scene happens. Count roughly 2 to 3 hours of gameplay to reach that point. If you don't have the time, here are a few screenshots of the key moments of the scene (removed some of the details of the conversations and most of the shots of the maids saying 'Mpphh!'):

It's just that I can do it, and I think binding in combat is stupid. It's a form of expression.

This game was made using RPG Maker MV. I used to make some experimental works with it, but it seemed that many users in this community could not run them properly. I tried to use other software.

I admit that this is as un-realistic as it could be, suspension of disbelief is in full effect here. Though I can see why people would be bothered by it, personally I didn't mind, and I have a lot of affection for these two games, and their rather light atmosphere and anime-like arts. Proper uniform stealing scenes are so rare, especially in videogames, that I'm just happy to see one pop up.

Also, speaking of your works, is there still a link for them somewhere on this Board?

Basically, Sound Man uploads them to his Baidu, in which only people in Asia can register, unfortunately, but sometimes he makes an exception for USB by uploading to Mediafire, for which we are very grateful to him, because he always pleases us with his wonderful stories :!:
