That's Dr. Julia Hoffman, from the "Normal" Universe, taking the place of her "Evil" counterpart, Hoffman, from "Parallel Time".
Hoffman was about to kill the main character, Barnabas Collins (a Vampire, from the "Normal" Universe), with a stake.
Julia, arrives in the "alternate" Timeline just in the nick of time to save her friend, by bashing her double over the head with something, killing her.
Julia strips Hoffman of her clothes (including her pantyhose) and assumes her life at Collinwood for the rest of the storyline.
Julia mentions that she didn't mean to kill Hoffman, it was just an accident and I believe the say they bury her in the woods behind the Collinwood Mansion.
My mom and me are huge Dark Shadows fans. We just watch the entire run, again, on Amazon Prime last year. That's the 3RD time for me in the last 35 years. Mom used to watch it when it originally aired when she was a teenager.
