How to add pictures to a post

I was just wondering if someone could tell me, how to add a picture from a website directly to a post?
Also- How do I add a picture to a post that I have stored on my PC?
When I try to add the pics, It says "The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 256 KiB."
What am I doing wrong?

I'll jump in and try answer your question since it seems like quiet night here. You see the little buttons above the screen for posting messages? You select either the for IMG or the one for URL and then paste a copy of image address for the picture you want to post between the two brackets.

You can't upload from your PC unless you have it set up to be like an internet site or something. I hope this helps.
