(...) the mass execution is not related as an event. But it is related in the context of the world world. It's a separate incident somewhere else in the same country. All my work is set on a Fictional Island nation of Samaria. Somewhere in the Indian Ocean area , Sometime in the future. Its a popular stop off point for tourists travelling the area, due to its beaches , scenery and sex industry. But in the last few days there's been a military coup and those now in charge make Pol Pot seem like a telly tubbie. Theres no UN any more and its even more feeble replacement, The Peace Cooperative, is helpless to intervene. America doesnt get involved because its recovering from the Yellowstone Caldera eruption and the rest of the world can't organise a tee party in a chimp house. So when Samaria declares its borders sealed no one Gets involved.

The new Samarian government has decreed all foreigners to be illegal and must be disposed of. In the months following the coup, All international visitors are rounded up and summarily executed. Using various inventive means. They all tend to end up naked for some reason. Heheh.

With a blanket communications blackout the outside world is oblivious to this. It's only 6 years later after another coup that the borders reopen and the fate of the foreigners is revealed.

As there were thousands if tourists in the country there there are plenty of massacres and executions to draw so more will be on the way no doubt.


Samaria is not a very good place to be for backpackers (...)

All tourists were warned that travelling outside of the resorts would be dangerous. Especially with small guerilla forces active in the nearby hills. Unfortunately that warning did not get to everyone. This young backpacker failed to get that message as she and her 2 friends travelled on a local bus service from a day sightseeing. At a roadblock they were quickly discovered and removed from the bus. Luckily the guerilla group consisted of female troopers, so it was unlikely they would be raped. Unluckily they took a fancy to the expensive clothes the 3 girls were wearing. The girls were quickly taken to the side of the road and the bus was sent on its way. The rebels jeep pulled off the road too. Behind a ruined wall out of sight of the road, the 3 gap year students were forced to undress and hand their clothes over. All three then had their hands bound and were stood apart to watch while the guards tried on their clothes and rummaged through their backpacks. On the road cars travelled past just out of sight, their occupants oblivious to the drama on the other side of the wall. Finally the rebels finished going through the packs and prepared to leave. As they loaded the last of their belongings onto the jeep the leader made a casual, dismissive wave in the direction of the worried backpackers. Unfortunate questions would be asked if 3 naked girls were found wandering in the hills. One of the rebels nodded in agreement , unslung her AK47 and, walking over to the first girl, raised the weapon. The click of the safety catch could not be heard over the screams. ...
