Alexandria’s day had gone from bad to worse to weird. She had been insulted, outbid, stalked, attacked, knocked out, stripped to her underclothes, and trussed up. But now…
“Hmmf!” she protested into her gag as she stumbled. Her captor yanked on the rope harness, causing the stumble, and pulled her very close. Alexandria huffed again and stared defiantly into her captor’s eyes: her eyes.
The doppelganger pulled Alexandria forward with one hand, and cupped her chin with the other.
“Y’know,” Other-Alexandria said in a slightly raspy version of her own voice, “I haven’t had a chance to mimic someone with your striking bone structure recently,” Alexandria watched as the doppelganger’s face (her face) shifted nauseatingly as the creature apparently rearranged some bones. It was deeply unsettling, but she wouldn’t break eye contact.
“And I must say, your Vehkar clothes are… well they’re colorful, eh?” the creature was wearing her jacket, shirt, and pants. Meanwhile, she was left to shiver in her underclothes.
“Ymmf dmmh gmmf tmm imsmmf mmf!” Alexandria huffed again.
Other-Alexandria responded with a “tut” and forcibly tilted Alexandria’s head back and side to side with its firm grip on her chin.
“Your friends won’t know I’m not you until we’re a week away from this place. I think I’ve got a convincing likeness of you, although I’m basing the mouth on what I remember. Can’t take that gag off you and cast a tricky spell, now can we?” Other-Alexandria shook Alexandria’s head and said in a high-pitched mockery of her own voice, “Of course not, Xyna! In fact, I think you should stuff cotton in my mouth and tie me tighter!” Xyna (apparently) gave a cruel, raspy laugh– not Alexandria’s boisterous one– and released Alexandria’s chin.
“There’s only one thing I don’t like here,” Xyna said with a grimace. They looked pained as they slowly seeped fiery orange into the dull gray-black copy of Alexandria’s braided hairstyle.
“I never liked redheads”
