This little bit of fan filler, was born out of a conversation between Meditationn142 and I about the fan favourite the MK1 Shock Glove. This small series will allow you to get to know the tools of the SI's trade, a little bit better.


THE MK1 SHOCK GLOVE

Clearance Level: Junior Operative and Above
Materials:- Shock absorbent Leather , Directed Woven Charge Matrix
Main Uses:- Covert Infiltration, Covert Subject Takedown

Medical Considerations

Period of Unconscious:- 8-10 hours( Depending on Subject)
Side Effects:- Short Term Memory Loss, Temporary Paralysis, Dry Mouth

Main Users:- All SI Special Operations Groups, All SI Special Infiltration Regiments


A brain child of Special Operation Group 6's very own Tanya(Mira) Chernova, the Shock Glove was originally conceived as a close range alternative to the venerable shock pistol. Useful for when an operative is not a position to draw her shock pistol, or requires the close personal touch to acquire disguises.

While the Shock Glove can be used on any part of the body, SI medical recommend the Vagus nerve as the optimal point of contact especially on female subjects. The electrical stimulation of the Vagus Nerve causes the subjects CNS to be temporarily overridden, inducing the brain into a sleep like state that lasts for a period of up to 10 hours, it varies from subject to subject. Operatives should not be alarmed if they hear their target let out a cry of arousal before they are rendered unconscious, this is only natural or as one group 6 member put it " Bloody Exhilarating."

Operative Mira had this to say about her creation. " It allows for quick subduing of the target, allowing the operative to get to the fun part the unwrapping." The Shock Glove is currently in active service with the Shadow Initiative, and a MK2 version is in the works.

What a great concept. A woman is hit with the shock glove and has her CNS and brain so overwhelmed she is knocked out for a very long time.

And of course there is the warning "operatives should not be alarmed if they hear their target let out a cry of arousal before they are rendered unconscious." The arousal the woman feels as she is being knocked out is a wonderful side effect.

And of course is it helpful that it wipes the woman's memory of what happened to her.

It as to my favourite tool of the SI's trade. Ranged is okay, but nothing beats silently taking out a woman with an electrified nerve pinch and stealing her clothes.

Nothing beats silently taking out a woman with an electrified nerve pinch and stealing her clothes.

Agreed. To me the best possible scene is a intruder sneaking up on an oblivious and unsuspecting sentry, reaching for that one specific spot on her neck, pinching and rendering her unconscious. Add in the electric shock delivered by the glove and its extra effects and it is just amazing,

Agreed. To me the best possible scene is a intruder sneaking up on an oblivious and unsuspecting sentry, reaching for that one specific spot on her neck, pinching and rendering her unconscious. Add in the electric shock delivered by the glove and its extra effects and it is just amazing,

To be honest, I don't see how Tanya could improve on the design. It as the versatility, to be a staple in the SI armoury for many operations to come.

Not to mention it being the personal favourite tool of Nightingale and Vesper.

I happened to be looking back at the SI handbook entry about the Shock Glove and noticed something I really didn't take note of before. That is "SI medical recommend the Vagus nerve as the optimal point of contact especially on female subjects."

So the recommendation is that it is particular appropriate to target the Vagus Nerve when the glove is being used on a woman. Interesting. So is there something about a woman's anatomy or her nervous system that makes the effect of a shock to her Vagus Nerve more potent then it would be on a man?

The Vagus Nerve is one of those medical mysteries. On a woman we know that the Vagus is a point of sexual stimulaton, but strangely on a man that is non existent and serves only as a typical neural pathway. Possibly because as men, we have our Penis for that.

I think SI medical sited the Vagus nerve on a female as as weak spot, due to the fact of this peculiarity. Similar to being struck in the genitals, so in essence when they target the womans vagus, they are overstimulating it, essentially knocking them out with a mini orgasm. It could also have something to do with the fact that women are made up of 65% water compared to 60% for men, so shock weaponry is more effective against them, if only by a limited margin.


I was thinking of updating the Handbook with an advisory to agents, that when targeting male opponents to go straight for the crown jewels with the glove. But as I try to avoid using men(they only serve as antagonists, or supporting characters) in my stories, you will probably never get to see that.

Love that idea that the Vague Nerve is the woman's weak spot. The idea that the charge from the Shock Glove over stimulates the woman and knocks her out with an orgasm is really quite sexy!

It's my favourite non-lethal takedown of the series, turning a woman's orgasm against her to render unconscious for a period of eight hours. You really cannot get any more sexy than that. I generally prefer up close Intimate takedowns. And you really cannot get any better than the shock glove for that

My favorite takedown as well. Love to imagine what is going on in the woman's mind as she is attacked. First is the shock at suddenly being touched when she didn't know someone was behind her. Followed by the pain of the pinch and the electricity flowing through her body. Then followed by a brief moment of intense arousal witch lasts just moments before she's put to sleep.

Of course, as we know, she will not remember any of it thanks to the effect of the Shock Glove. At least since the Glove wasn't used on her Holly in "To Free a Nightingale" remembers having an orgasm.
