Clothes stealing oldie

When I was young, in 1960's I remember a black and white film where the middle aged female villain picked up a beautiful I think blonde hitchhiker and they stopped off to go swimming The villain ran her over with her car, stripped her and dressed her as she would have been and set her car on fire in attempt to change identities. Have never seen the movie again. Does anyone know the name of it or where it can be found?
