Arrest Fail! (F/F Scenes)!
'I saw it as a mark of progress, a real step in the direction of the Police Force in our Middle England Ward! The joke when people asked for directions to our district was to 'go back in time about thirty years!' My dad, uncle and cousins were in the police force and I would always say I wanted to be our towns first Police Constable! Then they would smile and tell me, 'Claire your a girl! Become a teacher, nurse or a good housewife!' This actually encouraged me more'!
'Then at twenty three, with a degree in Criminology, national boxing medals and qualities any police force would want anywhere? Especially after getting the best results in the tests and exams! Yet I came back home to prove a point! There I met a pleasant surprise at been the second female in the local force, after Shania joined two weeks before! She had moved to the area from The City, wanting to keep a low profile as a key witness in a drug gang case! Despite us both having great credentials my uncle the replacement for my retired dad as police chief, had very different ideas and opinions, linked to his 'dinosaur' opinions'!
'We apparently were not physically capable of been paired together, (despite me been a boxing and Shania a kick boxing champion!) We were glorified 'tea girls' and 'admin workers'! Then while my uncle took a week off my cousin standing in for him 'caved' to my pressure a little and me a Shania got a night patrol! Granted the quietest and most secure village in the area? But still a success! We saw all the lights on at the Chambers house, I was friends with the wife and knew they were away for the weekend? We were getting our chance to prove herself, at last I would prove my self to my sexist family'!
'I entered first a little to keen and cornered a robber emptying the Chambers safe! I wish I waited as Shania recognised her as working with the firm she would be testifying against, put the female boss of the firm already had us both at gun point! They stripped us, wore our uniforms and bound and gagged us in our underwear as a mark of humiliation! Then thinking this couldn't get worse, my two male police cousins saved us! I sometimes think I would of preferred been shot'!
'However the Firm was shut down and with a new approach advised by my new best friend and role model Shania, I transferred to the gang team and ended up a captain myself! I at thirty three became the youngest police chief ever in my district! Though that said I do have to take it on the chin when my first night patrol is discussed! I laugh now, but I certainly didn't at the time'!
