In Lincoln City, the Crooktown neighbourhood was notorious for its ruthless muggers, who sprayed their victims with knockout gas, then robbed them of absolutely everything.
The victim regained consciousness to find themselves completely naked.
The Crooktown muggers made no exceptions, and even the police were afraid to get out of their cars.
Three new arrivals at Crooktown precinct - Detective O'Leary, and Officers Crosby and Lane - were appalled that the local cops were afraid of the criminals.
O'Leary declared: "We're going out there to show those perps who's in charge here!"
Sergeant Myer replied: "Well, good luck with that. Just take my advice, and don't go inside any buildings where it's easier for them to ambush you with that knock out gas of theirs."
Later that day, the three humbled cops had a long and embarrassing walk back to the precinct.
