Big Fat Boris was in Paris.
Business was business—especially when it involved diamonds.
His wife and children were tucked safely on the far side of Europe, and he had millions at his fingertips… or rather, his boss did.
What Boris wanted tonight was simple: a good time.

So he asked the concierge.
Henri—slick, smiling, and smelling faintly of Marseilles alleyways—leaned in with a nod and a wink.
A thick envelope slid across the counter, disappearing beneath Henri’s hand like a magician’s trick.

With that easy, oily confidence only the French can master, Henri assured Boris that Nicole and Suzanne would be at his room by midnight.
He grinned as Boris lumbered away.
His girls were experts; the contents of the room safe would be gone within hours.
And when Boris discovered the theft—well, who exactly was he going to complain to?

Perfect.

Or so Henri thought.

Unfortunately for him, receptionists Isabelle and Claudine had overheard everything.
Their shift was ending.
