An unexpected discovery [including a short story in Skyrim setting]

It was Marcella's fourth or fifth sentry duty at an abandoned temple somewhere in the mountains between High Rock and Hammerfell. The colonel of their regiment did not share why exactly their squad was sent to this gods forsaken place, saying only that some priests from the capital should come and conduct a ritual. Meanwhile, they must stay and guard the ruins with their lives.
Well, that's just a part of being an imperial soldier. You follow orders without questions, and hope you will get promoted to a position where others actually tell you what's happening.
She turned around yet another ruined corner and spotted something lying on the cobbled floor.
Her eyes widened in shock. Erwynn!
The young Breton archer was lying sprawled on her back, umoving. For some reason she was stripped of her imperial armor and leather boots, but she still had her linen underwear on that preserved her dignity. What the hell happened to her?
Marcella rushed forward and knelt beside her war sister. She touched Erwynn's thigh: it was warm and soft to the touch. Then she hovered her hand above Erwynn's mouth and sighed with relief. The archer was breathing.
Unfortunately, Marcella was too surprised and preoccupied to hear muffled steps behind.
Then there was a loud sound of wooden baton hitting something with a crack.
Then everything went black.

The Thief's Guild mercenary shrugged. It was a sloppy work to leave the Breton in plain sight. Oh well: now there were two unconscious bodies to hide. She still had some time before they wake up to finish the job.
