Uniform Stealing Board

A new Kdrama called Confidence Queen begins airing on September 6. The main heroine is part of a trio of con artists who pull off elaborate schemes to steal money from rich scumbags.

In the trailer, we see her disguised in a few different uniforms (think like Leverage).

Maybe a longshot, but hopefully we see her swipe the outfits by replacing some people during the series.

Why do I have this horrible feeling like it'll be one of those shows where she always appears in her disguise, without any explanation. But I guess there is hope, as most shows like this always have to have at least one episode of where they need to get a disguise on the go, so qué the USB scene.

Yes, it has two possible strikes against it being a USB mine.

1. She's supposed to be a 'goodie' so, unless she's boxed into a corner, I can't see her attacking any innocents.

2. If she habitually uses uniforms and disguises as a way of making her living, then she'll acquire them in less risky circumstances. In this case, as you say, with no explanation whatsoever.

Let's keep our fingers crossed though. Korea has a habit breaking the mould.

Another possibility is Project Y, starring one of my favourite actresses. It seems quite dark and edgy and should be out towards the middle of this month.

So apparently this show is a remake of a Japanese TV series called The Confidence Man JP.

I checked out the original show on Netflix, and it does indeed feature a female con artist who wears a lot of disguises (doctor, barmaid, policewoman) in the course of her work. Unfortunately, as you may guess, the show rarely provides explanation for how she acquires these uniforms.

In the first episode, she devises a plan that involves disguising herself as a flight attendant. She does this by applying for a flight attendant job at the airport, and then undergoes three months of training so she can get hired by the airline! In the end, she gets the uniform, but you get the sense there was a quicker option...

I have my doubts that the remake will be different, but I guess we'll see.
