A recent arc on this Indian drama featured another "bride swap" - but with a twist.
It starts out the usual way, with the real bride getting ready for her wedding, when she is confronted by a rival. The bride is knocked out by the rival's male friend, and then bound and gagged in a cupboard while the rival dresses up as her and takes her place. Eventually, the real bride escapes and exposes the imposter.
But then we get the surprise reveal that the bride and the rival are secretly working together, in order to manipulate the groom's family into believing the bride is a victim. They staged the "mugging and replacement" as part of a plan (not even the male friend who knocked the bride out knew about it, he is informed after). Another woman learns of this plan and tries to tell everyone, but she is caught by the bride and rival and tied up so she can't spoil things. Eventually, this woman escapes and is intercepted by the rival, but defeats her and ties her up.
So basically, there is a bride swap, lots of treachery, three different women bound and gagged. Just an ordinary wedding day in India.
