The prisoner, could strip the girl she's replacing while she is propped up being probed. Allows for more efficient stripping. When the alien is finished, she simply retracts her tail, concealing it. She then dresses in the woman's clothes, underwear and accessories.

Just like Species, when I watched that scene in Species Awakening with the singer, I always imagined Miranda after threatening the girl, just sticks her tongue down her throat or through the back of her head. Strips her naked, stashes the corpse into a wardrobe.

Tongue might work, just bores into the brain takes DNA and memories that way. I don't want it to be too graphic.

That could work, except for the shrivelling part. The prisoner sticks her tongue into the girl's forehead, takes DNA and memories. Brain shrivels up, strips them while this is going on. Then dresses in their clothes, victim falls to the ground naked conceal the body as usual.
