They are based, but like you said are not a clear match. It is a good series with quite a few Uniform Stealing scenes, and a sexy heroine, I would recommend it. The S.H.I.E.L.D uniform is also sexy, with black tights, white boots and gloves.
Unfortunately, it only appeared in the comic book, not in the live-action movie.
