But in a way, they kind of deserved it. Sure the Agents had military training but the guards should have had things under control. Their own incompetence ended up sealing their fate.

Indeed, the guards had no idea who they were dealing with. The DGSE they only told the security staff that they were probably dealing with terrorists or malcontents, who already fled. They weren't prepared for the sudden attack by M&L. Essentially, a combination of the authorities willingness to cover this up and a lack of preparation from the incompetent young guards made things too easy for our more experienced competent agents. Who had no idea these women were on a mission and that requires them to "donate" their uniforms to the cause.
