I'm GenZ, Trackman, and I indeed had the joyful experience of using Sega the console, playing Streets of Rage, Shinobi, Tiny Toon, ... while I experienced Empire Earth 1 with my old BenQ, I don't remember if it's a cd or a dvd but I did play it when I was 3 years old. I mean it, I was 3 and something when I played EE1, even before I started playing Sega the console. That's partially why I like old movies, games, ... maybe.
I don't really know why?, but I know that I still replay them and remember my early life.

Hhhhmmm....That's actually a good point, so I guess there would be parts of the previous gen that do know what it means to be an "actual gamer", okay, please allow me to explain,

P.S. I want free control "as a moderator" over this chat, as I think it might be helpful and constructive in the long run, so I'll start things off.

Now, as you probably know, with me being a "millennial" and all that jazz. This means I've seen a few generations come and go in my time. I mean Christ, I remember being a gamer of where you had blow on cartridges if they didn't fit in your sega mega drive consoles and what not, even though they now proved that this was a realignment issue and the blowing on cartridges was just BS.

Anyway, I was both a console player and a PC player....until PC stopped producing discs and went over to steam...Okay, fine, whatever, so I just moved to consoles only...Now what Playstation is doing, it seems that next year (towards the end), I'll be going to Xbox only, as well as Switch 2 to be fair.....Then when they go down. Fine, I'm out all together. :O

Now where does all this fit in? Well, it's kind of simple. Gen Z people get blamed for all the stupid "all universe everything" and every time a game is made, it has to be this "one size fits all" attitude. So unless your game features dozens of skins that feature all animated and anime girls...Ooorr characters that look like beavers & butthead or maybe even American dad. then this will fail.....

...Now this kills all sense of gaming for me...Not everything needs to be a Fortnite copycat or warzone wannabe....God damn that's boring, it's okay to be individual you know?

Anyway, anyway..So as a gen Z person such as yourself, who seems to appreciate "psychical" media, which did make me nod in respect as your gaming life is pretty awesome. .....I just want to know?........As a member of the old guard, speaking to a member of the new guard. Are we basically looking at another gaming crash? I mean, where do we go from here? I already have stopped my daughter from looking at video games, because I don't want her going down this horrific nightmare. But from an outsiders view...What is your view?

I don't think banning her from video games is the best thing to do, just keep her on the old school retro classics c1985 - 2015. Do the same with music (c1955 - 2000) and movies (1930 - 2005/6). Using movies as an example most writers these days are trash tier dumb arses and can write a good male hero, a heroine that isn't an insufferable gobshite or a decent villain that isn't a poor misunderstood guy that gets redeemed ... Show her what decent writing can give you. Even in the old black and white movies (i know young folks these days are allergic to B/W stuff).
