The best way to get into a place you're not supposed to be is with a disguise, but what to do if you don't have one? Obviously, just borrow one from an unlucky guard or staff member. Anyone who's watched enough movies or TV shows knows that. But that's all it is, just a media trope.

And yet, that hadn't stopped someone from trying out that strategy on Amanda. One minute, she was walking through the halls of her office, and the next she was being forced into a supply closet at gunpoint. She was promptly stripped to underwear, tied up, and blindfolded with her own tie. Her attacker finished her off with a strip of duct tape right over her mouth, and then moved on, locking her inside.

Even beyond her misfortune, Amanda couldn't imagine why she had been targeted. She wasn't a guard or high ranking manager with lots of credentials. She was a paralegal for heaven's sake; she didn't even wear a uniform! The thought briefly crossed her mind that she may have been targeted by a disgruntled client, but again, she didn't even handle cases connected to crime. Would it not have been easier to just stick her up and force her to open up whatever they wanted open? Or just locked her in the closet in general? Even if she could get loose from the tight ropes that bound her, she would be stuck inside regardless until someone came.

These thoughts tumbled through her mind because, in her current predicament, there was little else she could do. She couldn't call for help, she couldn't get out of the room, and she couldn't even see the room around her. Even if she could call for help, she wasn't entirely sure that she wanted it. Being found in such a compromising situation was one thing, but to also be just about naked? Whoever had done this to her clearly knew how to keep her nice and out of the way, no matter what else they had planned.
