This was my custom
No kidding? Did you write a script or just give the producer a general story idea?
Either way, I think Dark Rooms did a wonderful job.
Even though their videos tend to have that "shot on video" look, the production is always great.
If you don't mind me asking: What did Dark Rooms charge to shoot this?
Precisely! I gave them an outline that was very close to a script and they did the rest. Although due to couple factors, some parts of the last victim was not what I was looking for in the first place(which I think was preventable if I discuss everything with them more attentively before the shooting). There was also an obvious inconsistency when the agent was attacking the last guard because they made a mistake, which we’ve had some arguments on but they were able to cover it by editing. Overall the production was great, the quality has exceeded my expectations. It was around 2500usd for the custom, including special casting, they are very budget friendly.
By the way, I’m thinking of getting another custom from an English speaking studio but don’t have any choice in mind.
AES Productions did a custom for me back in 2000.
I wrote the entire script in under 30 minutes. Ken Scott, the producer, followed the dialogue from my script to the letter.
However, Scott filmed and added a few scenes without my consent.
This extra footage served to lengthen the runtime and appeal to a wider audience, so it could be could be sold with the other videos in their catalog.
Also, I was promised it would be shot on digital video and transferred to a VHS. It wasn't.
I understand digital video was in it's infancy then, but the picture and sound quality was horrible.
Since then, I've transferred the movie to digital with the hopes of remastering it with AI.
I've seen old shows recorded from TV on to VHS that had been cleaned up using AI.
This YouTuber reposted the old Inhumanoids cartoons he taped from TV. These AI enhanced episodes were DVD quality.
