AI Dungeon

Post by rufusluciusivan »

I don't really know where to post this, but I found something rather interesting, albeit a little different from usual.

AI Dungeon is a free-to-play single-player and multiplayer text adventure game which uses artificial intelligence to generate unlimited content. You can easily find it by typing AI Dungeon on Google. I found it completely by chance, and was curious to see if we can reenact USB scenarios with it. And it actually works! To be perfectly honest, the AI isn't always perfect and the thing is first-and-foremost designed to reenact medieval fantasy scenarios, but you can reset the last action at will or go back to undo your actions at will until you get something that suits you.

Here are a few screencaps of my first try (sorry for the size, the text was cut a little). I picked the mystery setting, chose to play as a spy, and gave her a clearly female name. Here is what I managed to get. (I'm trying the advanced version of the AI - there's a seven days free trial for it. There's a free version, but the AI seems less flexible.)

Rufusluciusivan, this sound really interesting to me.
I'm not much of a "Gamer" or in to "RPG's" at all.
I'm into "Old School" video Games. I had an Atari, Nintendo and the first Play Station, but I was an Arcade person when I was a teen.
When Dungeons & Dragons first came on the scene, my cousin Dan tried to get me into it.
I'm not very Tech-Savvy, but I'll try to give this a shot.

It's interesting, but sadly it's has some barriers "too mature content" and you need wait for creating new stories, because you have limits in diamond way", you know, HughingChat maybe best for creating our stories, but this pretty not bad too, thanks my friend

AI dungeon was pretty great several years ago - no paywall as such and was much less restrictive about mature content. However now, it is not so good and has kind of fallen behind the competition in many ways. But there are some much better 'AI' adventure places out there (as well as locally hosted stuff). Though most have a paywall and are probably harvesting a ton of personal data.
