Real life likenesses - The moral dilemma

Post by Void99 »

Wanted to get some opinions on something if anyone cares to give any genuine thoughts.

Was browsing DeviantArt and came across this image:
https://www.deviantart.com/kidnapinc/ar ... -995754196

Any Walking Dead fan will instantly recognise the character, Maggie.

When I first saw that I was quite amazed how good she looked....and the work that was done to apply her likeness to a Genesis 8 figure. It IMMIDIATELY got me fantasising about how if there was a character set for the character Alicia Clark (played by Alycia Debnam-Carey) from Fear the Walking Dead....the possibilities of what could be done.
How I could make a really hot scenario between both Maggie and Alicia, chloroform, stripping, groping .....maybe even clothing theft/impersonation etc.

But then I suddenly thought of the problem .....these are likenesses of REAL living people/actresses. Not video game characters or fictional characters I knocked up with a mish mash of fictional character sets.

Would this be seriously crossing a line? I mean how would you feel if someone took your likeness and did something like have you giving a handjob to another dude or something? !!!!! That's what I'm now asking myself.

Is it best to have fantasies about characters played by real people exist only in ones head?

We have a lot of horny gifs with real actresses, so it's okay dude, nevermind about it, especially when you have potential interesting idea - just be yourself, creator stories ;D ;)

I think this is sort of a grey area but I'm leaning towards it's okay for the most part.

There's a big difference between saying this is the person themselves vs this is the fictional character they're portraying.

I see this often when I search for writers to commission, too. They won't do real life people but will do fictional characters that real life people portray.

This is always an interesting, and hard, question. I look it as sort of a "consent" issue.

Obviously not real consent in that this is all fantasy and, or course, any real life scenario would involve getting the person's true consent.

The way I look at it is that a actress, or a woman who puts out modeling pictures, does that in oerder to show herself to the public. While she may not know we are using her likeness in our little uniform stealing world, she at least willingly put her image out there.

This is the reason when I make up stories I use images I have found online to picture the women in the stories. However, no matter how pretty she is, I never fantasize about women I meet in real life in uniform steal stories.

I do have to admit that I feel sorry for actresses who have a bunch of weird photo manips out there. Especially actresses who don't do naked scenes and people put up faked naked pictures. That kind of thing seems to cross a line to me.

Hi Everyone

Like Meditions I tend to use images of models I find online, to portray my uniform stealing victims in my stories. And for anyone who are fans of the SI, you would know that I use the likenesses of my favourite actresses as the heroines in my stories.( And of course the Star Wars stories too) Since I generally prefer the idea of them doing the uniform stealing on random female mooks.

That being said, I don't really have a problem with the likenesses of real people(actresses in this case) being used as resources in Uniform Stealing. As well known public figures, they have decided to put their image out there, they shouldn't be surprised if people decide to use their likenesses. Consent as nothing to do with it, if they didn't want their faces used or flashed across the Web then find another job. It's their career choice, no amount of pot calling the kettle black will change that. And I will admit to fantasising about pretty women I have seen on the street having their uniforms/clothes stolen. Since its part of being a USB, and as I writer I have to find inspiration from somewhere. Besides I can't help it if I have an overactive imagination.

Although I do agree with meditions about actresses behind subjected to very weird photoshops, like Emma Watson with larger boobs. That does cross a line with me, since I like Emma Watsons boobs the way they are, nice small and B-cup. Just like in my stories. But I digress.

So in conclusion, I don't think it's an issue about consent just your own personal tastes. There isn't no moral dilemma, just our own opinion.

Some great input from people here!

There is so much I want to type about but it would be a very LONG post. But the short version is I think I'm way too caught up in the stigma of "likeness theft" used for malicious/spiteful intentions.
Associated with internet/online drama ....like debates and conflicts that go way beyond the realms of rationality.

I seen it where people take another persons facebook picture and photoshop their face onto a porn image of someone masturbating and then make a fake profile on a gay dating site of that person using the photoshopped image....all for the purpose of hating on that person. I remember this happening to a Youtuber called thunderf00t some years ago. All over an internal dispute.

Seen people resort to even worse things than this.

In my mind....or rather experience from what I have seen, the practice of using a visual likeness of someone combined with adult themed content, has been done with bad intentions in many cases.

If I was ever able to a scenario like I mentioned with Maggie and Alicia from the Walking Dead universe ...I would like it to be seen as erotic fiction and not some kind of hateful spite induced attack on the actresses who play them.

Hope this is making sense, it probably isn't. It's late in the night and I'm half asleep.

Thanks for the responses and perspective.
