Excerpt from "Harley's New Toy" by Steve Zink

First, a quick shout-out to Rufusluciusivan for his entertaining new story about a zoo infiltration. It reminded me of an old Harley Quinn fanfic that had been posted years ago on the old forum. Brief scene, but perhaps worthwhile.


Robin pulled in at the zoo amongst a small fleet of police cars. With that many cops on hand, he figured it couldn't possibly take long to gather up all the wayward animals and also find the guilty party. He checked with the site coordinator, then slipped through the crowd of officers mingling near the front gate. Robin checked the area around the oversized terrarium, but found nothing to indicate any wrongdoing. He did see a number of zoo personnel armed with rifles, and hoped they were loaded with tranq darts.

Harley was waiting until Robin had made his way to the relatively secluded area that she was biding her time near. She was dressed in a zoo attendant uniform that she 'borrowed' from a female, now sleeping peacefully under a bush in just her underwear. Harley's anatomy was a bit too large for the uniform, but the buttons were holding so far.

Robin came into her view as he rounded the bend. Harley waved at Robin with her right hand while holding the rifle in her left. He waved back, saying, "Hi, have you seen any people out here other than zoo employees or cops?"

"Nope!" she yelled back. "Just plinking at reptiles, and getting some unscheduled target practice."

"Okay, have fun!" Robin told her, turning his back and walking on.
