At Hotel Cipriani in Venice, the woman incapacitates a maid and steals her clothing, which she then uses to gain entrance to Baroni's room. She is eventually caught at her own hotel room, inside of which the innocent maid is still stripped and tied, after protagonist and police commissioner Marco Cereda remembers seeing her earlier in the hallway.

Note: The real maid is only seen in one panel, when she's found tied up.
