One night, while the Normandy was docked on the Citadel, Shepard was walking through the ship and turning out the lights for the night. The crew were staying on the Citadel itself, leaving the ship unusually quiet. Shepard was giving her ship the once over and making sure everything was in order before turning in for the night herself.
As Shepard passed through to the cockpit area, she walked up to the computer terminal on the wall. As she reached out for it, she suddenly heard a soft metallic banging noise to her left, coming from the ship's shuttle. Knowing that nobody else was meant to be on board, Shepard was immediately on high alert. Then came the banging sound again, followed by the sound of something shuffling around. Shepard unholstered her pistol and moved slowly and silently towards the terminal that unlocked the door. With a deep breath, Shepard hit the button to open the shuttle doors. With a sharp hissing noise the two shuttle doors slowly opened as Shepard took aim at the doors.
When the doors had opened, and much to Shepard's confusion, she was greeted by the sight of Miranda on the floor of the shuttle, stripped to her underwear and tied up with rope with a tape gag over her mouth.
"Miranda!" Shepard called out, and ran across into the shuttle to kneel in front her tied up friend.
"MMMMPPHH!" Miranda frantically shouted into her gag, as she seemed to be nodding her head rapidly in the direction Shepard had come from.
"Okay okay, just hold still for a second," Shepard said, "Don't worry, I'll get you out of-"
That's when Shepard heard the faint sound of a footstep behind her. Stopping mid-sentence, she stood up and spun around with her pistol at the ready, only to see two mercenaries standing in the corner behind the doorway to the shuttle, with assault rifles pointed at Shepard.
"Drop the weapon," one of them ordered, as two more armed mercenaries stepped out from the hallway into the doorway of the shuttle.
Realising she wasn't getting out of this, Shepard sighed and dropped her pistol onto the floor.
"Great," the same mercenary said, before nodding to one of the others. "Now, tie her up just like the other one."
Soon enough, Shepard joined Miranda in being stripped to her underwear and tied up on the floor. Shepard was furiously shouting muffled threats into her gag, while Miranda had a look of resignation on her face.
As Shepard continued to struggle, one of the mercenaries came back into the shuttle from the hallway. "Way's clear," he reported.
One of the female mercenaries, who looked to be the leader of the group, crouched down in front of the two tied up women. Shepard peered into the visor of her helmet, and noticed that she was an asari.
"Okay," the leader replied and gestured to the two other mercs, who began to lift Shepard and Miranda to their feet. "Let's get these two back to Omega. The boss is going to want a little chat with these two before we hand them over..."
