Story 4.5: Cartel

Post by rufusluciusivan »

This small story takes place between Part 4 and Part 5 of "To Overthrow the Utopia". For the beginning, I was inspired by a scene the the Dirty Pair comic, that I remember having seen on the previous board. Unfortunately, the scene itself only showed the heroines luring their victims and in the next scene the heroines were already disguised. No discovery or shot of the two women that were knocked out and mugged. At first, this was supposed to be only a descriptive version of the comic book scene, adding the missing scenes. But then, it gave me an idea to write a small story around it and I changed the characters and settings to make it a part of "To Overthrow the Utopia". I hope you will enjoy it.

**************

This was a warm evening.

“Attention! All passengers boarding the Lydia must clear security before boarding!” the sailor was saying.

Damn! We're going to lack time! Shayna thought. Klenia is waiting and I still haven't found anyone that could fit...

When Klenia exposed her plan to board the ship, Shayna thought it was a good idea. Find some passengers, lure them, and relieve them of their tickets (and possibly of their clothes). Simple and direct.

The Lydia was EarthSee Paradise's most well-known ship. Ironically, it was also their smallest. In fact, the Lydia was more a mobile luxury restaurant touring Utopia's main ports than a true cruise ship. It rarely went on a cruise, instead reamaining docked in a port during a few weeks or months, before sailing to the next port.

Which fitted Shayna and Klenia well. They didn't intend to leave East Harbour.

Shayna simply wished they could have had Aster's help. However, their window of opportunity was so short that they didn't have the time to wait for her to arrive.

But boarding could be a bigger problem than we thought...

Shayna then saw the two women, who were carrying luggages with a big 'LYDIA' written on them.

Or maybe not...

The first woman had long dark brown hair that were going down to the middle of her back. She was wearing a red short dress with zebra-coloured long socks and armbands. The second woman's red hair were curly and shorter, only going down to her neck. She was wearing a blue short dress, as well as black gloves and a dark blue sleveless jacket.

Shayna approached them, getting in character just like Klenia told her.

The dark-brown-haired woman was talking: “... So he goes, 'But isn't it degrading to wear that?' So I go, 'Well kinda, but the pay is...'”

“Oh, excuse me!” Shayna interrupted her with a singing tone.

“Uh?”

“You're going on the Lydia, aren't you? So you must be stars or something, right?” Shayna said while playing the role of a ditzy bubble-head.

“Well, gee, I guess so...” the redhead started.

“We're like hostesses or waitresses, sorta, you know...” her brown-haired companion added.

“Oh, close enough!” Shayna said while beaming a huge smile.

Both women seemed a little embarassed, but also flattered by the admiration they could hear in Shayna's voice.

“Could... Could I get a picture together with you? My friends'll be so jealous when they'll see that I met people boarding the Lydia! Oh pleaaaaase!” Shayna continued, with her most charming and adorable face ever. She was holding a small camera (and groaning internally).

The two women looked at each other.

“Well, like we really have to hurry 'cause we gotta change before we go to work... But, okay...” the redhead ansewered.

Shayna had succeeded. Both women had been won over by her cuteness. She grabbed the redhead's hand.

“Oh, wow! This is great! C'mon over here... There's a better background!”

She led them away from the gangway leading to the Lydia (and its security checkpoint). They walked between two buildings before arriving in front of a warehouse. Since they were past working hours, the place was empty.

She could hear Klenia softly whistling while cracking her knuckles, hidden in a porch. 'KRICK!' 'KRICK!'

“Here we are!” Shayna beamed.

“I don't see a better background...” the brunette said. “On the contrary. This place looks a little... gloomy.”

She was answered by Klenia's fist. 'POW!' The unlucky woman fell on a ground while letting out a small grunt.

“Wha...?” the redhead exclaimed.

She tried to move back, but Shayna was still holding her hand. Klenia was already on the hostess. 'POW!'

With a soft “Uhnnnn!”, the woman slumped into Shayna's arms, out cold.

“Truly sorry about that...” Shayna said to the unconscious woman.

“Don't worry. Aster taught me that specific punch. They'll wake up mostly unharmed, except for a headache... We will get far worst if someone catches us here.”

Klenia pointed a door leading inside the warehouse's office.

“There are no cameras and I picked the lock. We'll stash them inside. No one will come before tomorrow.”

The two senseless women were dragged inside the warehouse's office. The room was small, but big enough for Klenia's and Shayna's plans.

“No need to waste our time taking the clothes they have on them. The costumes they'll be wearing on the ship are in their luggages.”

Klenia seemed a little disappointed. “But then, does it truly count as a uniform stealing? I have a reputation to uphold, you know!” she joked.

Shayna chuckled. “Technically, I guess it counts. It's just that they're not wearing the uniforms yet... Your reputation is safe.”

“If you say so... Now, let's secure these two. I wouldn't want them to run around and call the security on us.”

Adhesive tape was put to good use to secure both women. As always, Klenia had come prepared.

However, the brown-haired woman started to groan and stir while Klenia was busy wrapping her arms.

“What the... What happened?” she groggily muttered.

Klenia gently made her breathe some chloroform before she could fully wake up. “There you go sweetie... We can't have you wake up too soon, right? Just breathe...”

The woman mumbled a muffled answer, before falling asleep.

Klenia then chloroformed the second hostess, who was also starting to come to her senses. “Although I do hope they appreciate my temperance. I rarely leave my uniform donors with that much clothes on them...”

However, Klenia still removed the brunette's long socks, before taping her legs. From her part, Shayna had already finished securing the redhead.

“Why do you need some socks?” she asked.

Klenia simply winked. She filled one sock in the dark brown-haired woman's mouth and the other sock in the redhead's mouth. Then, more tape was used to seal their lips.

“I see...”

Shayna rummaged in the women's bags. “Now, what clothes did they have to change into before...” She interrupted herself, then muttered: “Oh no.”

**************

A little later, in the Lydia's reception hall...

“Gee... I sure picked the right ones...” Shayna muttered. “This outfit is killing me...”

“Come on! It's not that bad... Sure, it's a little tight. But I don't think the clients will be complaining...” Klenia muttered back.

“If somebody told me that the hostesses had to wear bunny outfits, I'd have mugged someone else...” Shayna groaned.

The thief didn't know which was going to kill her first. The tight outfit. Or the embarassement caused by the numerous glances the men were taking at her.

All waitresses were wearing the same clothes: black leotard with long brown pantyhose and black high heels. And, of course, these ridiculous bunny ears they were wearing on a headdress. Shayna was starting to think that they actually did the two women they mugged a favour.

For the time being, the guests were at the appetizers. Klenia, Shayna and dozens of other smilarly-dressed women were walking among them with trays of food and drinks. The two Rebels took advantage of the situation to go all over the huge hall to try to identify their target.

Shayna was hoping that this wasn't a false lead. She was hoping that they didn't do all that for nothing.

Then, suddenly, her heartrate started to speed up.

“Klenia. I think I see him. Look on your right.” she whispered.

“Yes. That's him. Let's try to get closer.”

************

The man was actually very handsome; with his tanned skin, curly brown hair and muscular body. Shayna reminded herself that he was one of the people in charge of the human trafficking ring of the Callianass Cartel, and then she saw him for the monster he really was. She and Klenia approached him as much as they could.

Currently, the man was standing near an exit room of the reception hall. He was talking with another man and a woman. The man was smaller and as thin as a rake. With his glasses and well-trimmed hair, he was looking like an accountant, and he was certainly looking out of place among all the gorgeous rich men and women in the reception. The woman next to him was stunning, with her statuesque figure and braided black hair, and her fancy red dress was emphasizing her good looks.

“I think the short guy with the glasses is Max Shroud... Calypso's personal accountant...” Klenia muttered.

They got as close as they could without raising suspicion. Max Shroud and the handsome man were talking to each other. Even though they were whispering, Shayna could immediately see that the conversation was very tense.

“I will repeat it to you one last time, Lloyd.” Max Shroud was saying. “I've always refused to put my hands in this business. Madam Yllac didn't force me, and things are not going to change because she's having some... difficulties.”

“Come on Maxie, don't act all high and mighty with me!” the handsom man retorted. “We all know that Calypso is out of the picture for good, now that the Rebels got their hands on her. You will need another protector. It would be a shame if...”

He stopped when the woman next to Max moved. In appearance, she was just stretching. However, Shayna saw the brief glimmer of fear in Lloyd's eyes and she understood. That woman wasn't some kind of trophy escort. She was Shroud's bodyguard and a mercenary of the Cartel.

“Maxie... This conversation is getting boring... Why don't we go take some refreshments?” the woman complained.

Shayna was impressed. The bodyguard was even better than her at faking ditziness.

“In a moment, dear. First I have to...”

His phone suddenly rang. Max picked it up and had a quick conversation with the other person. He was muttering and Shayna couldn't comprehend what he was saying. When he hung up, his bored expression had been replaced by a look of determination.

He quickly whispered some words in the ear of his bodyguard. Shayna could only hear one word, but it sent shivers in her spine.

“Sao.”

Max Shroud had been contacted by Calypso's former bodyguard. Shayna's intuition was telling her that this could mean trouble for the Rebellion in the future.

“Lloyd, I apologize, but I must leave. Urgent matter. I have to meet someone. I wish you good luck.”

“No problem. I have to meet a client soon. The Lydia is perfect for this kind of meetings...”

After a small gesture of the head, Max Shroud left. The woman followed him. She didn't even bother to salute. She glanced at Shayna and Klenia while leaving. During a brief moment, Shayna feared that she had recognized them as impostors. But the bodyguard didn't say anything and left the ship with Shroud.

**************

Lloyd took a glass of wine on Klenia's tray. He winked at her, with a charming smile. Shayna noticed that his eyes were ogling her friend's chest and legs. If it was possible, she felt her anger and hate towards that man increase.

Lloyd emptied his glass in a few gulps and checked his wristwatch. He took another glass on Klenia's tray and, this time, he tried to feel up her ass. However, Klenia gracefully evaded his hand.

“Sir. Are you trying to ask us to follow you in your room?” she asked with a playful smile.

But Shayna could see the burning disgust in her eyes.

Lloyd looked at the both of them. Shayna forced herself to not shiver in disgust when he gazed at her, his eyes lingering on her breasts. “Why not?” the man finally answered. “Maybe later.” Apparently, he didn't see what Klenia and she were really thinking of him.

“Which cabin?” Klenia asked with a sugary voice.

“Cabin 56. I'll send someone search for you two.”

The man emptied his second glass, smiled at them one last time, then left the reception hall and entered the corridors leading to the ship's cabins.

“We follow him. Immediately.” Klenia said while putting her tray down on a nearby table.

“What?”

Klenia took Shayna's tray and put it down too. “Quick! And don't hesitate.” She grabbed her friend's hand and led her out of the reception hall. “People saw us talk with him. If they see us leave the room after him, they will assume he asked us to come with him and they won't ask too much questions.” she explained while walking.

They quickly followed Lloyd in the corridors.

**************

As soon as she was sure that there would be no witnesses, and that they weren't too far from the cabin 56, Klenia didn't waste her time on subtelty. She attacked Lloyd from behind, hitting him hard on the back of the head. The man groaned and dropped on the floor.

Shayna was surprised by her sudden assault. Not that she wasn't pleased to see her hurt him, but she wasn't expecting it to happen that quickly.

“Klenia?”

“Quick. Take him by one of the underarms and help me carry him to his room.” her friend whispered.

Shayna complied and, soon, they were carrying the half-unconscious Lloyd, each supporting him by one of the underarms. On their way to his cabin, they came across several people, but Klenia had a plan to avoid suspicions.

“Don't worry Mr. Lloyd...” she was saying loud enough to be heard, still playing the role of a dumb hostess. “We'll carry you to your room. But, next time, don't drink too much champagne...”

When they entered the cabin 56, unlocking the door with the man's keys, Klenia wasted no time throwing him on the bed and locking the door.

“Shayna. Take a glass of water in the washing room, please.” she then said. “We'll wake him up, and have a little conversation. Just the three of us. We'll have to be quick. I don't know if his client knows the number of his cabin or if he will come looking for him. But I don't want to take any chance.”

**************

Lloyd didn't resist much. A few slaps, punches and kicks in the crotch were enough to loosen his tongue.

That night, Shayna discovered a new aspect of her friend's personality. While Klenia wasn't above using force to neutralize a uniform donor, Shayna had noticed that her friend tended to be as quick as possible. A few well-aimed punches were usually enough, and she tried to not inflict more pain than what was necessary. Sure, her victims would wake up with a headache and bruises, but no lasting injuries. While she was interrogating Lloyd, Shayna saw that, when she wanted, Klenia could be a lot more brutal. It was a safe bet that she broke several of the man's ribs, as well as his nose, before he finally agreed to talk.

While in her mind Lloyd deserved everything he got and probably more, Shayna was still a little scared to see that Klenia could have a violent strike. At the same time, she felt her admiration for her friend increase when she realized how much Klenia was restraining herself when she overpowered someone. Aster and Mikani probably had the same training.

It turned out that Lloyd didn't know the exact fate of Venia Iven, Shayna's sister. However, he gave them a list of potential clients, salesmen and destinations. Venia apparently had been shipped to a foreign country.

“So you'll never find her anyway... Olympus will never let you leave the country...” he spat at them.

Klenia shut him up by punching him in the jaws, then shared a quick glance with Shayna. They didn't talk, but they understood each other. Under Olympus' rule, no citizen was allowed to leave the country without an authorization. However, things would change quickly if the Rebellion managed to overthrow the Government...

“We have everything we wanted.” Klenia concluded. “Let's leave.”

“What about him?” Shayna wasn't a murderer. But Lloyd was possibly the man who negociated her sister's sale. She was tempted to make an exception, just this time.

“We leave him.”

“But... He did...”

“I didn't let you take an active part in the interrogation for a reason, Shayna. Don't screw it now.”

Shayna suddenly felt a twinge of anger. “I'm a grown-up woman, you know. I can deal with this kind of things.”

“And then, without knowing it, you will become like Emery.”

Klenia's words doused her anger. Since the very first day, when the assassin talked about killing her as if it was an errand to the grocery store, Shayna had considered Emery with a mixture of fear and repulsion. The mere idea of becoming like her came as a blow.

“Besides, he'll soon get his just desserts..." Klenia added. "When we will give the informations to Shark, all the underworld will know that he's a squealer. And the underworld hates squealers.”

Lloyd paled, but Klenia didn't let him the time to wallow in self-pity and brutally knocked him out.

“And now?” Shayna asked.

“Now, we find other disguises, because we won't be able to leave the ship in our bunny outfits.”

**************

Later that night...

Klenia had thought that the blond-haired woman would be easy to subdue. She was some kind of assistant or personal secretary. Her black skirt with black tights, white shirt, black business suit and glasses were giving her the image of the proper intellectual who never fought once in her life, even in a moment of anger. Klenia thought she would be an easy prey. She was wrong. The woman actually had better reflexes than she anticipated.
When Klenia tackled her on the floor, the blonde's first reaction was to repel her with her legs, then to flee the cabin on all fours to reach the door and call for help. The blond-haired secretary was about to use the doorknob when she suddenly was grabbed by the ankles. In one swift movement, Klenia dragged her away from her destination. The woman let out a small shriek, but her indignant screams were muffled by the metallic frame of the walls. Klenia pinned the woman on the floor by sitting on her back, and locked her head in a sleeper-hold. The blond-haired woman futilely wiggled her legs, hitting the floor with her high-heels. But her struggles were growing weaker.

“How is yours?” Klenia asked to Shayna, ignoring the outraged gurgles of her victim.

“Almost ready.”

Shayna's victim proved to be easier to subdue, and she was already unconscious in the thief's arms. This black-haired woman was one of the guests, and a gorgeous one to say the least. With long lustrous legs, a fair skin, a beautiful figure and a well-endowed chest. Her hair were pulled back by golden hairclips into a loose bun. She was wearing a magnificient dark-blue sparkly evening dress and matching high-heels.

“But I have to say, coming across these two was a big stroke of luck.” Shayna added.

“Sometimes, you just have to trust luck.” her friend answered.

By the time Klenia and Shayna had dealt with Lloyd and returned to the boat's main hall, the party had become a little wilder. Several guests were clearly drunk now, and a few had to be escorted to their cabins. The two partners, still playing the roles of attendants, eventually came across a gorgeous black-haired woman, escorted by her blond-haired personal secretary. The guest had been drinking one or two glasses too many, and wanted to rest a little in her cabin. Of course, Klenia and Shayna diligently offered to help the secretary support her employer until they reached her cabin. The blond-haired woman agreed, relieved to receive some help, not knowing that her decision was going to leave her in an uncomfortable and embarassing position.

With one final sigh, Klenia's victim went limp. She was out cold, her chest slowly moving following the rhythm of her calm breathing.

Shayna was already stripping the black-haired guest, making the dress slide over her attractive body. The woman was wearing a black strapless bra and well-trimmed matching panties.

“I will take the dress.” Shayna said.

“No way! Why would you get the best clothes? I have more seniority!”

“I call it the 'Mugging Hierarchy'.”

“The what?”

“I figured that, since I mugged you more times than you mugged me, it means that I have a higher rank than you in the mugging hierarchy.”

“But that's unfair! We only met once before joining the same team! I never had an occasion to even the score!”

Shayna smiled. “Tough luck, isn't it?”

Klenia couldn't help but smile back. “I admit, you got me there.” She started to remove the blonde's shoes and tights. “And I can't stay mad at you anyway. You're too adorable.” she added.

Shayna blushed a little.

**************

The blond-haired secretary was soon stripped down to her plain white cotton bra and matching control briefs. She was laid next to her underwear-clad employer. Klenia and Shayna turned the cabin's white bedsheets into makeshit bonds to tie their hands and legs. Then, they connected the bonds to hog-tie the two women. Klenia even had a small switchblade to cut the sheets.

“How did you manage to pass that thing through security? They searched our bags!” Shayna asked.

“But they didn't use metal detectors. I hid it in my cleavage. Now, stop asking questions.”

Handtowels were used to fill the unconscious women's mouths. Klenia and Shayna used the last strips of bedsheets to gag and blindfold their victims.

Once they were sure the women would cause no troubles, they put their clothes on. The dress was a little too big for Shayna, and she had to pad her bra with toilet paper to fill the dress' bust-size. But still, it was worth it. Klenia was taking quick envious glances at her, dressed in the secretary's white shirt, black business suit, black skirt, tights and high-heels.

“So, my dear secretary, why don't we go out of the ship to breathe some fresh air?” Shayna said, while adopting a precious tone.

Klenia chuckled. “I'd be delighted.” she answered.

The blond secretary was coming to her senses while they were leaving, but they closed the door to cut short her muffled screams for help and walked arm in arm in the corridor.

**************

With their new disguises, leaving the Lydia was easy. People still weren't alarmed by the disappearance of two hostesses, even though they could hear the other bunny girls complaining that they were having more work because of the two 'slackers'.

Klenia and Shayna got away from the ship as quickly as they could.

“Well, at least we now have new leads on your sister's fate...” Klenia said.

“A foreign country...” Shayna commented. During the last two years, her sister had never seemed so close and so far-off at the same time...

“I will take you there once the Government has fallen. I promise.” Klenia added.

Shayna looked at her and smiled. "Thanks..." Without thinking about it, she grabbed Klenia's hand and squeezed it. "It means a lot to me..."

They were passing in front of the warehouse in which they left their first uniform donors, when a door of the building suddenly burst open. The red-haired hostess exited the building, supporting her black-haired friend. She was hysterical and some strips of tape were still stuck on her clothes. When she saw Shayna and Klenia, she didn't immediately recognize them as her muggers because of their new clothes and ran in their direction.

“Please! Help us! We've been mugged!” she exclaimed. The woman stopped in her tracks when she got close enough to recognize their faces.

“Wait... You...”

“Wow! You managed to free yourselves quicker than I expected!” Klenia commented. “I guess I shouldn't have used low-quality chloroform...”

The woman took a few steps back, but her friend was still groggy because of the chloroform and she couldn't flee without her. Klenia and Shayna moved to block their escape path.

“Don't hurt us... Please...”

Klenia smiled.

“Then you know what to do...”

**************

Soon, the two unlucky hostesses were again left in an uncomfortable position. This time, Klenia had used ropes lying in the warehouse to bind them back to back, and had gagged them with tape. They didn't resist.

“I made the knots loose enough. It shouldn't take you too much time to free yourselves. We'll be long gone by the time you do it however.” Klenia commented.

“Sorry about that.” Shayna left near them a good sum of cash that she took from the purse of the rich guest she mugged. “Here. Consider this a compensation for what we did to you.”

Without waiting for the muffled answer, the two women left. They had to regroup with Aster.

Re: Cartel Part 1

Post by esercito sconfitto »

I love and appreciate this little piece, putting apart the ' philological' issue about that scene from the "Dirty Pair" - which I don't remember :?:

quite strangely, I had the impression that even the scene with the other two women ( the secretary and the rich guest) was based on a previously presented scene

just a final thought...
I believe that Klenia is not a 'proper' Uniform stealer. Emery is. Emery loves the ( camo, combat) outfits... Klenia loves mugging... 8-)

I may have the pictures still somewhere. I'll try to find them.

The second scene wasn't inspired by another scene, at least consciously. ;) Did it bring in mind a specific scene to you?

As for Klenia... can it be? Is her whole life based on a lie? :D However, that's true that she's way more interested in the mugging aspect of her profession (including the stripping and tying up/gagging parts) than in collecting uniforms. 8-)
